Reckoner: Guided strength training
· v1.6.4
About
Reckoner is a strength training coach built for your Garmin watch.
Create your free account at reckoner.fit and your training plan is sent straight to your wrist.
Reckoner tells you what to lift, how many reps to do and what comes next. You train, log each set on the watch, rate how hard the exercise felt, and Reckoner uses that performance to build the work ahead.
The idea is simple: your program should respond to how you are actually training.
Instead of adding weight on a fixed schedule, Reckoner looks at your reps, load and RPE and adjusts your progression from there. It can move reps, load and sets, push when training is going well and ease off when it is not.
Your workout is already prepared when you open the app. Exercises, sets, reps and loads are waiting on the watch, along with coaching cues, warm ups and rest timers. You can train without carrying your phone around the gym or stopping between sets to update a spreadsheet.
At the end of each exercise, you give Reckoner an RPE from 6 to 10. That small piece of feedback is what allows the next session to reflect the one you just completed.
You can build your training around muscle growth, strength or fat loss, while Reckoner handles the progression behind the program.
Every completed workout is also saved to Garmin Connect as a strength training activity, including your heart rate, calories, training load and set data.
Reckoner works from a training plan cached on your watch, so a lost phone connection does not end your workout. When the connection returns, your training syncs back to your Reckoner account.
A free Reckoner account is required. Pairing is done with a short code shown on the watch, so your account password is never entered on the device.
You must be 13 or older to use Reckoner.
Reckoner is a training tool for healthy adults and is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing in Reckoner should be considered medical advice. If you are new to strength training or returning after an injury, consult a qualified professional.
Your training data stays in your Reckoner account and your own Garmin Connect account. Your Garmin Connect password is never entered on the watch or shared with Reckoner.

What's new
Reckoner now installs on the Venu, the Venu Mercedes-Benz Collection, the Venu 2, the Venu 2 Plus, the Venu 2S, the Venu 4 41mm and the Venu 4 45mm, so seven more Garmin watches can run it.
v1.6.3
If you train in pounds, the watch now knows that a US dumbbell rack starts at 2.5 lb and steps 2.5 lb up to 10, and that kettlebells start at 5 lb. It used to open at 5 lb on the dumbbells and 10 lb on the bells and step 5 lb from there, so a 2.5 or a 7.5 lb dumbbell was a weight it could not offer you at all and the lightest lifts had nowhere to start.
v1.6.2
Finished a workout but your watch couldn’t send it? Reckoner now tries again the next time you open the app, even if today is a rest day.
That means a completed session no longer sits stranded on your wrist while your training plan moves on without it. Your workout gets back to reckoner.fit, and your next sessions are built from what you actually did.
Rest days are clearer too. The card now shows Pick a day, and pressing Start opens your week so you can jump back into a session you missed without guessing which button to press.
