About

Arepa Power is a digital watch face with a Venezuelan soul: pure black background, three concentric rings in the colours of the flag and an arc of seven stars. AT A GLANCE • Three rings that build up the CURRENT WEEK (Monday to Sunday): steps in yellow, kilometres in blue and active kcal in red, each with its own configurable goal. • Left column, right now: watch battery (the icon fills with the real level and turns red below 15%), Body Battery and heart rate. • Right column, your day: steps, kilometres and active kcal. • And the twist: your active kcal turned into equivalent AREPAS. HOW THE AREPAS ARE COUNTED Only ACTIVE kcal count, never your basal ones. The watch reports the day's total calories, so the face subtracts the resting ones: it estimates them with the Mifflin-St Jeor formula from your Garmin profile (weight, height, age and sex), or uses the value you set yourself. You can also change the kcal per arepa (215 by default, a medium grilled arepa). ALWAYS-ON MODE In low power only the essentials stay — date, time, seven dots and a small tricolour bar — with very few lit pixels and a per-minute shift to look after your AMOLED screen. SETTINGS (from Garmin Connect) • Weekly goals for steps, kilometres and active kcal • Kcal per arepa • Time format (automatic, 24h or 12h) • Blue ring (km): total daily distance, or running and cycling only • Always-on display: full, time only, time and steps, or no date • Colour brightness: normal, dimmed or minimum (the minimum level halves the light the screen emits, so it uses less battery and is gentler on the panel) • Resting calories: normally estimated from your Garmin profile (Mifflin-St Jeor); if you know your real basal metabolic rate, you can set it yourself ABOUT THE BLUE RING: by default it uses the watch's total daily distance. The setting changes the ring only: the day's km row always counts every kilometre. If you'd rather it counted sport only, the setting offers running + cycling (Garmin's API does not expose walking separately, and in that mode Garmin defines the week, not the face's Monday). If you switch modes, review your weekly km goal: 30 km walking and 30 km running are not the same target.
