Variometer

The Vario Pro Hemera is the new version specially for new devices. Hemera is a precise variometer. It uses the raw barometric sensor to measure altitude and variometer. Its algorithm provides responsive and accurate data. The screen has been kept very simple for better readiness. The variometer emits short sounds to indicates vertical speed. Sounds frequencies change with vario intensity. Map is available and an easythermic function available to help pilot to center the thermic. An altitude alarm is available. When the altitude is reached, a orange background with “Warning hard-deck” message is displayed. The menu offers the option to switch off/on variometer sounds; swap altitude and vario values on the display; reset min/max values; switch background color; reacquire GPS position; change variometer sensitivity. At startup, the device will acquire the reference position. During this acquisition, the device needs to be outside. A new location can be acquired via the menu. To exit, press quickly 3 times on the exit/back button. To start the recording/gps, go in the menu or press the select button. When the recording function is ON, the app logs different parameters like altitude, variometer, position, and g-force. These could be reviewed later on the mobile Garmin Connect application. WARNING: for unkonwn reasons yet, the app for some Fenix 8 show some problems (slow menu, GPS is not capturing position). we recommend to test the app before buying. WARNING: The app should not be used as a primary information source. If the app contains a barometric altimeter, it will not function in a pressurized aircraft and should not be used in a pressurized aircraft. Always defer to certified instrumentation during operation. This App cannot be used and will not work for extreme sport like speed flying and basejumping.
