Memories of 1981

It was 1981 when Casio introduced their A201 watch: an LCD watch with an analog watch face! Brilliant idea. I loved it and I saved my pocket money for half a year to buy one of those. I lost mine about 25 years later somewhere in Nice. I loved the way how it combined an analog display (which is much better to read than digital in my view) with modern technology. Traditional hands but no mechanical parts. Since then I had a weak point for watches that made use of modern technology but traditional watch faces. And this is not skeomorphism, because skeopmorhism is decoration for the pure purpose of decoration, while here the classical hands have the functional advantage of better readability. My "Memories of 1981" brings the revolutionary Casio A201 to the Connect IQ universe. It looks best on the Fenix 3 (and is quite ugly on other devices). It looks also much better on the device compared to the screenshots you see here in the IQ store. Give it a try. Change log: Version 1.1: Now shows activity status and battery status in high power mode (i.e. when not sleeping). The indicators are small dots running in a narrow circle between the hour hand and the outer ring of segments. Activity (steps) is shown on the right hand side and counts from 6 o'clock (0 steps) through 3 o'clock (half of your goal completed) to 12 o'clock. The battery status is shown on the left hand side and runs from 12:00 (full) through 9 ( half full) down to 6 (empty battery) Version 1.0: Vastly improved performance because it draws only 2 3-point polygons and 30 lines instead of drawing 123 4-point polygons. Version 0.9: First release. Terribly slow because of 123 Polygons with 4 points each had to be drawn. This straightforward but not very smart way lead to a very slow reaction of the device when the watch face had to give the screen to the apps menu, the menu or a widget.
