UV-Index

UV-Index is a simple, accurate no-nonsense widget that displays the current UV-Index and it's daily maximum for any location. The widget makes use of GPS coordinates and retrieves the UV-Index using a web service provided by OpenUV Project (https://www.openuv.io). Please note: the current UV-index is corrected with cloud coverage (weather data) while the daily max is not. So the first value is only as good as the weather forecast is and thus it’s probably wise to use the second value (= clear sky max) together with your own judgement. Since the widget is based on a real-time architecture, please ensure that your Garmin device is always connected to your mobile (usually through Garmin Connect Mobile app) and your mobile is connected to the internet. Many support requests and 1-star reviews are due to connection problems. From V1.20 onwards „last known position“ is used (if not switched off in settings). If you use your watch regularly for running, cycling, etc. you may never see the „Waiting for GPS …“ screen when you launch the widget. If you nevertheless see an endless „Waiting for GPS …“ screen, try recording an activity with GPS (e.g. a run) and afterwards, launch the widget again. This should set the initial cache and subsequent starts of the widget should be fast (depending your internet connection). If something is not working for you as expected, please contact me using the link "Contact Developer" instead of just leaving an unspecific 1-star review.
