Multiple SmO2 Graphs
· v0.6.7a
About
This data field receives, displays and records data from up to four SmO2 sensors. It is mainly targeted for cycling and will also graph power, heartrate and cadence.
SmO2 sensors are worn over muscles and measure the oxygen saturation in % and amount of blood in g/dl in the blood vessels in muscles. The former is the difference between oxygen provided to the muscles - which can change as you warm up but also as the body pumps more blood to where it is needed - and consumed locally in the muscle. It will usually increase as you warm up and decrease under load or if blood is diverted to another muscle and then recover after the effort. The latter is the amount of local blood - if you do strength training you should be familiar with muscles being pumped up after training, this measures that amount.
Currently, Moxy Monitor is the only available, portable, ANT+ compatible SmO2 sensor.
Instructions: Please check with initial app settings that this works on your device. Then, use Garmin Express for PC/Mac or the Garmin Connect app for iOS/Android to customize app settings.
I am providing this for free and love to interact and help. If you'd like to show your appreciation, you can donate to me (@takurayanagi) using Paypal.
App Settings:
- Please set the ANT IDs of the sensors you are using. 0 will search for sensors nearby.
- If you are using less than four sensors, you can switch unused connections off to preserve battery.
- The "data fields" at the top can be customized.
- The status bar displays connection/recording state of each sensor, the battery state of the device and time of day/activity duration/lap time.
- You can customize which SmO2 and Thb curves to draw.
- The range of the values of each SmO2 and Thb is displayed right from the vertical axis.
- Laps will be displayed as a orange vertical line.
Note:
- Lap time and lap power may slightly differ from Garmin due to limitation of the CIQ API.
- On the 520+ and 820, more than about two sensors may be beyond the device's capability and trigger the watchdog timer, resulting in the CIQ error icon.
- Data is stored as FLOAT, not UINT16.
- This datafield does not set the internal clock of the Moxy sensors.
- If you own multiple sensors, I recommend either setting all ANT+ IDs manually (necessary if you want to assign sensor locations) or let all be searched.

What's new
V0.6.7 (2021.6.15) - Laps should now work also with workout steps. Bug fix for GC on Android.
V0.6.6 (2021.6.14) - Added power meter balance. Somewhat quick & dirty ... displayed value can be left or right, depending on power meter.
V0.6.5 (2021.6.13) - Bug fixes.
V0.6.3 (2021.6.13) - Added fourth sensor, improved layout, made data fields at top customizable, added bars showing the range of values for each sensor, added lap time and lap power, added a vertical line for each lap to the graph, shows connection and recording status of each sensor, made some bug fixes.
V0.5.17 (2021.5.15) - Added Edge1030Plus.
V0.5.16 (2021.5.2) - Bug fix.
Known issues:
- Vertical lines in the graph that indicate laps drift.
