About

Your average speed, and how close it is to changing. An hour into a ride, average speed barely moves. It sits on 27.6 for ten minutes and tells you nothing about whether you are gaining or losing. Speed Trend puts a bar under the number showing how far through the current 0.1 km/h step you are. Ride above your average and the bar fills; when it fills, the number ticks to 27.7 and the bar resets. Ride below and it drains; when it empties the number drops a step and the bar jumps to nearly full. An arrow beside the number says which way it is heading, and an optional countdown tells you how long until the next change at your current pace. There is no hidden state behind the bar. It is the fractional position within the step, computed from the same average as the number, so it cannot drift out of sync with what it sits under. SETTINGS Average source distance / timer (matches the Edge's own Avg Speed), Garmin's averageSpeed, or moving average only Step size 0.05, 0.1, 0.5 or 1.0 Units follow device, km/h, or mph Direction arrow off, vs current average, or vs a target speed you set Bar colour blue progress, or green/orange by trend Steady number anti-flicker deadband, on by default Optional rows time to next step, target value, units, current speed The field measures the slot you give it and shows what fits. A full-width field gets the label, big number, unit, bar, target and countdown; a thin strip gets just the number and bar side by side. Font sizes are measured against the space, not hardcoded, so it stays sharp in any layout.
