How high was that one?
Jump height, airtime, spins and cable laps, measured on your wrist and saved as a normal Garmin activity. Built for boat riders and cable parks. No phone, no account, no signal needed.
Wakeboard lets the watch record the session it already records well, with speed, distance, heart rate and calories, then adds the numbers wake sports are actually about.
What it counts:
• Jumps. Height, airtime, distance and rotation, every one of them kept against your best of the session. Two detection paths, arm free behind a boat and arm loaded on the handle at the park, so cable jumps are not missed. Where the air could not be measured, the file says so rather than inventing it.
• Spins. True yaw, measured against gravity, so a flick of the wrist never counts as a rotation. Every 160° credits a spin, so your 180s count and a 720 reads as four spins and one rotation.
• Laps. Cable and circuit laps counted off the gate, a known circuit length, or both, with an optional buzz every time round so you can pace a set without looking down.
• Falls. Read from your speed collapsing rather than from an impact, so the edge you catch and sink on is counted like any other.
• Riding time against dock time. One clock, split two ways. Now you know what the queue cost you.
• Wind efficiency. How much of your speed you are holding into the wind rather than across it, with the live angle on the ride screen. (Needs a watch that reports direction of travel. The Forerunner 255 family leaves it blank rather than guess.)
Land it, see it. The height comes up for four seconds against your best of the day, ring and all, without pausing the timer. DOWN opens that jump's full record. UP and DOWN walk five screens, all live from the first second.
Built to be read at speed. One hero number per screen, one colour per metric. A short buzz for a jump, two taps for a spin, one long for a lap: three shapes you can tell apart through a wetsuit cuff, so your eyes stay on the water.
Everything stays yours. It runs on the watch's own sensors, so it works out of range and out of signal, and wind comes from the forecast already cached on your watch. No internet permission, no weather API, no sign-up. Every metric is written into the FIT file, so your numbers land in Garmin Connect with the activity rather than living inside an app.
Nothing quietly reads zero. If a sensor will not start, or you ride thirty seconds without a GPS fix, the watch tells you once. What could not be measured is a dash, never a number. Jump height is a physical estimate from the wrist rather than a measurement.

What's new
This one is a beta, and I could really use your help.
I made Wakeboard on my own, and I test it on my own watch at my local cable park. Everything in it is backed by unit tests and by replaying real FIT files from two afternoons on the water, but I have not seen a boat wake, a different cable, or your riding style. The watch has not either.
So please treat this release as a beta and tell me how it went. If your jump count came out high or low, if a 360 was credited as a 180, if a lap never registered or the wind reading looked wrong, a short note saying what you rode, where, and what the watch said is worth more than anything I can test alone. Every one of them goes into the next build. The same goes for the good news: if a number matched what you actually did, that is just as useful to know.
