About
I learned how to create watch faces because no matter how much I liked many I saw in the Connect IQ Store, there was always some sort of deal-breaker with them that kept me from wanting to use them every day. As is the case with all watch faces I release, I designed this for me. But I thought some other users might enjoy this as well, and so here we are. This face allows you to quickly see how you're doing on your floors climbed, steps, and active minutes for the day and the week, as well as your body battery, distance traveled, active calories, and current heartrate. There are progress rings for steps, floors climbed, and active minutes around each value that show how you're doing on your daily or weekly goals, depending on how you have it setup. The color of the minutes in the digital time will vary depending on how you're doing in your weekly (or daily if you prefer) progress. The colors will change from shades of red to orange to yellow to green as you get closer to what your goals are. If the minutes are metallic gold that means you have reached your weekly goals for steps, floors climbed, and active minutes. By the way, Garmin doesn't provide a daily goal for active minutes, so for this watch face, your daily goal for active minutes is simply your weekly goal divided by seven. Other data shown on the face include battery remaining, sunrise and sunset times, today's day and date, current weather conditions, a 4-day forecast, a 4-hour forecast, and status icons for alarms, do not disturb, and Bluetooth connection. The color box around each day corresponds to that day's high temperature. Please see the temperature key image for details. The blue bar behind the temperature represents the chances of rain for the day or hour, depending on how you have the toggle set. Obviously, full blue means a 100 percent chance of precipitation, although I don't control the forecast or the weather, so don't blame me if it's wrong :)
The color of the icons for steps, floors climbed, and active minutes change through shades of red, orange, yellow, and green depending on how you're progressing toward your weekly goals. For instance, let's say your daily step goal is 10000. That means your weekly goal is 70000. If you get 20000 on Monday, the steps icon will be green. It will remain green all day Tuesday even if you get 0 steps because you already have the 20000 you should have by the end of Tuesday. On the other hand, let's say you get 0 steps on Monday. Then on Tuesday you get the full 10000. The icon will still be red because you should have had 10000 when the day started. Hopefully that makes sense, and I know it's a little complicated. But basically, green means you're good, red means you have some work to do.
* Your floors climbed goal, steps goal, and active minutes goal must be set to something other than zero or the watch face will not work.
All of my faces are built by WFB, a great web-based app available at https://watchfacebuilder.com.
