About
When you have to find some place and you know distance and bearing to this place from current location using your map and compass, you press Lap button to mark current location as a reference and go to the place of interest until distance and bearing on the display is equal to the desired ones.
Compass is always pointing to the real north.

_______ Adding this data field to an activity ______
This is a data field. Unlike than apps and widgets, it does not appear on the watch menu after you download it.
Instead, it can be added to native apps. The procedure may change from device to device, so check the manual to be sure. In general, it should be something like this:
- Open an activity (e.g. "Run")
- Press and hold the MENU/UP button to open the menu
- Choose "Run Settings"
- Choose "Data screens"
- Choose "Screen 1"
- Chose "Edit data fields"
- Choose the first field
- Choose "Connect IQ"
- Choose "Compass Orientation Course"

To configure a data field, you can use the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your phone or the Garmin Express on your computer.
Using your phone:
- Open the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your phone
- Look for "Garmin Devices" on the main menu;
- Choose your device
- Then "Connect IQ Apps"
- Then data fields
- Then "Compass Orientation Course"
- Then Settings

The double tap to mark a manual lap on the vivoactive 3 does work with the 2.60 FW. "Manual Laps" must be enabled for "Laps" within the activity setting.
