About

Lift: Sailing Race Timer Race together. Lift turns your Garmin watch into a crew-wide sailboat racing instrument. From the pre-start sequence to the final leg, every member of the crew gets the numbers that matter to their job - on the same shared race picture. One race, the whole crew in sync Lift's standout feature is connectivity. Watches on the same boat share race state in real time over the boat's Wi-Fi - start the countdown on one watch and it starts on all of them; ping the committee boat end of the line and every watch knows the line; set the course, capture a wind shift, advance a leg, and the whole crew stays on the same page. No shouting numbers across the rail. A screen for every seat on the boat The Race Compass adapts to your role with dedicated presets: - Tactician - laylines, VMC to the mark, wind trends and shift detection, and which side is paying. - Helm - target vs. actual TWA side by side, so you can stees steer-to-mark mode when you're laying the buoy. - Trimmer - speed against polar target and percent-of-target, so the trim is always pointed at boatspeed. - Bow - distance and time to the line and to the next mark. Built for real racing - Precision start timer with line-snap pings, time-to-burn, and distance-to-line - plus Autostart: when the committee announces the start, set the time of day and the countdown launches itself, right on the gun. - Polar-based targets, laylines, and VMG/VMC from a built-in boat library or your own polars (up to 8 boats). - Automatic leg advancing as you round each mark. - Wind shift detector with trend history. - Manual TWD entry when you don't have a wind instrument. - A race Health screen - heart rate, calories, and race averages - recorded straight to the FIT activity. Growing with your boat Lift is built to plug into your boat's instruments. SignalK integration is on the way: boats running a SignalK server will feed live wind and position straight to every crew watch, so targets, laylines, and the me from the boat's own sensors - no manual entry needed. The connectivity layer is already in place; richer live data is coming. Join the boat Wi-Fi, pick your seat, and race together.

What's new

v0.9.6: Added Offshore screen and route v0.9.5: Fixed optimal route to be both boards, some other UI issues, app now auto-accepts new TWD after shift detected and gracefully handles if you decline the update. Also added a course summary so you can see easily the next legs. v0.9.4: Display bug fix v0.9.3: Quite a few additions/tweaks Race alerts (opt-in): buzz at ~1 min to the layline and on mark approach. Post-tack VMG readout ~20 s after each tack. Next-leg preview on the Bow screen. Laylines now green/red = overstood everywhere. Start-line bias shown in meters. Tack digest on the race summary. Plus: create marks on the watch (drop-a-mark + club libraries incl. routes), export/revert marks, graphical reach view with polar-optimal steer target, and stale-GPS indicators. v0.9.1&2: Work on adding new marks and routes from settings page Marks: one per line!! id|name|lat|lon - id: short unique tag (A, W, MDD); unique across clubs you might load - name: display name - lat|lon: decimal degrees, South/West negative (degrees-decimal-minutes with a hemisphere letter also works) Example: A|KHYC A|33.841000|-118.427100 Routes — one per line id|name|markIds - markIds: comma-separated mark ids in order; the last mark is the finish Example: r5|Route 5|A,G,W Notes: routes reference marks by id, so load the marks first; re-pings you make on the water override the imported position (matched by id). v0.9.0: Added a new graphical mode for Race Compass! More than just #s v0.8.3: Menu for marks viewer now. Reset marks back to CSV/default, and added view data for export v0.8.1 & .2: Fixes to autostart, improvements to the onboarding guide v0.8.0: Better TWD shift detection, shows headers/lifters, and a user onboarding so they're not overwhelmed on first use. v0.7.6: Fixed crash in Fenix 6 series v0.7.5: Big change: new main menu (icons vs a list), improves usability Can do auto magnetic variation setting based on location (vs just manual entry) More networking fixes
