About
Data field to run on a single field layout. It provides you with a ton of information in one simple and logically organised view.
Before you start you will get a quick overview of what the fields are going to show. Refer to the screenshot to get a better understanding of the fields.
BLUETOOTH (PHONE CONNECTED)
At the top left corner there is small triangle bluetooth indicator that shows you in dark gray, when the phone is not connected or in blue when the phone is connected.
BATTERY
At the top left below the bluetooth indicator is a green battery indicator that shows you 0 to 100 percent of battery power left. Below 25% its background will turn orange. Below 10% it will be dark red. See the screenshots for example.
ALTITUDE & ELEVATION GAIN
To the right of the battery indicator is an altitude and elevation gain indicator (either in Meters or Feet, depending on your watch's system setting).
GPS ACCURACY
On the top right is a small triangle indicating GPS reception. Dark Red = no pos. avaible, Red = Last known position, Orange = Poor, Yellow = Usable, Green = Good.
LAP COUNTER
Top right is a lap indicator.
LAP DISTANCE & LAP TIMER
Lap distance in km or miles (depending on your setting). Precision is a hundredth km/mile up to 99 km/mi. Then reduced to a tenth up to 999km/mi and later to full kilometers (or miles respectively).
The lap timer is good up to 99:59:59 (~100 hours) before it will overflow.
TOTAL DISTANCE & TOTAL TIMER
Total distance in km or miles (depending on your setting). Precision is a hundredth km/mile up to 99 km/mi. Then reduced to a tenth up to 999km/mi and later to full kilometers (or miles respectively).
The total timer is good up to 999:59:59 (~1000 hours) before it will overflow.
PACE, LAP PACE & AVERAGE PACE
In minutes:seconds per kilometer or mile, depending on your setting. Below the lap pace and the average pace you will see a trend indicator. The trend indicator bar tells you whether your current pace (left most field) is below or above the lap pace or the average pace respectively. A full deflection to the left (green bar) tells you that your current pace is 25% below your lap (or average) pace, hence your lap pace will improve if you continue like this. A full deflection to the right (red bar) tells you that your current pace is 25% above your lap (or average) pace, hence your lap pace will worsen if you continue like this.
New since 2018.10.2: In the settings of the app (in your Garmin Connect smartphone app) you can choose whether your pace field (left most) shall be smoothed using an average of the last few seconds. The default is disabled (1 second) and can be set to any value in the range [1, 120]. If you choose to average your pace, then you will also get a trend indicator below your pace that indicates whether your current pace is below or above the averaged one using the same metric as explained above.
CADENCE, HEART RATE & ZONE
Cadence, heart rate & zone. The zone is according to your settings in your Garmin app. (If you set sport specific zones, e.g. different zones for running, those will be used.)
GRAPHICAL ZONE INDICATOR
The graphical and color-coded zone indicator shows you your current heart rate zone at a glance. The colors are roughly the same as in the original Garmin indicator (light grey = 0, dark grey = 1, blue = 2, green = 3, orange = 4, red = 5, dark red = 6)
TIME OF DAY
Time of day indicator at the bottom. Ideal for getting ready to race!

What's new
New since 2018.11.0: Altitude display issues fixed.
New since 2018.10.3: In the settings of the app (in your Garmin Connect smartphone app) you can switch the top row (lap timer and lap distance) to the race predictor. The race predictor allows you to see your estimated finishing time or the pace required to still achieve your goal or it shows you the time behind/ahead of your target time. All taking the current pace (averaged if you've chosen so in the setting) into account to calculate the prediction.
