About

Outdoor Readiness answers a simple question: is it safe and comfortable to exercise outside right now? Open the app and instantly see a 0–100 readiness score — green when conditions are great, red when they're not. No guessing, no switching between weather apps. WHAT'S BEHIND THE SCORE • Heat — based on heat stress, not just air temperature • Air Quality — real-time AQI from PM2.5, ozone, and NO₂ • Rain — intensity and probability combined • Wind — calm to dangerous, scored on a continuous scale • UV — sun exposure risk from low to extreme Each factor is scored independently so you can see exactly why conditions are good or bad, and which factor is holding the score down. PLAN AHEAD A 24-hour forecast chart shows how conditions evolve, with your best training window highlighted automatically. No more checking three different apps to decide when to run. HOW IT WORKS Set your location in Garmin Connect settings. The app fetches weather and air quality data, scores it, and caches results so it stays fast and battery-friendly. Glanceable from your watch face, detailed when you need it. PRICING Full 48-hour free trial — every feature, no commitment. One-time $3.99 purchase. No subscription. Works on Forerunner, Fenix, Epix, Enduro, Instinct AMOLED, Venu, vívoactive, and MARQ series. Requires phone connection for data sync. Keywords: weather, air quality, UV, heat, wind, rain, running, cycling, outdoor, readiness, score, AQI, training, exercise, conditions.

What's new

May 12, 2026 - The "Best" time window now only suggests daytime activity hours (6:00–22:00). No more overnight windows like "Best 17:00–7:00" — only hours when you'd actually go outside. When the best window starts right now, the header shows "Best now–15:00" so you know you can head out immediately. - Better handling of weather service outages with structured logging for faster diagnostics. Improved fallback to cached data when upstream API is temporarily unavailable. - Added support for Venu 2/2S/2 Plus, fēnix 8 Solar, Enduro 3, D2 Mach 2, and more. Now available on 50+ Garmin models. May 21, 2026 - Score gauge: the arc now dims the zones your score hasn't reached, so at a glance you can see exactly where you sit on the green-to-red scale. - Band label: "Good", "Fair", "Caution", or "Avoid" now appears below the score number — no more mentally decoding the color. - Worst factor first: on the breakdown page, the most critical limiter is always at the top. - Now marker: the forecast chart shows a vertical line at the current hour so you can immediately see where you are in the 24-hour window. May 27, 2026 - use GPS instead of manual coordinates
