Metric Monitor (Heart/Pulse Graph)
· v2.4
About
Hi everyone, I created this watchface for the Instinct 3 SOLAR with a clear goal in mind: to pack as much useful data onto the screen as possible while keeping it clean, readable, and most importantly, battery-friendly. It is primarily designed for detailed heart rate tracking.
If you like the watchface and would like to support my work, you can buy me a coffee here: https://buymeacoffee.com/bittala
To function properly, it requires:
- Heart rate monitor enabled (the green light).
- Bluetooth connection to your phone with internet access (for weather and sun data).
- GPS enabled on the watch for occasional location updates (for weather and sun data).
Top Section: Time, Date, Alarms, and Weather
Date: Displays the day of the week, day, and month (e.g., Sun 02.08). This represents the current calendar day in the watch's system language.
Time: Shows hours and minutes (with a 12/24h format option and an AM/PM indicator) and seconds.
Alarm Count (top left): The number next to the clock icon indicates the number of currently set alarms on the device.
Weather Forecast (icons): Three icons show the weather outlook for the current day, divided into three time blocks:
Morning: 06:00 – 11:00
Noon/Afternoon: 11:00 – 16:00
Evening: 16:00 – 22:00
Top Right Circle: Health and Physiological Metrics
This section focuses on your body's condition.
Heart Rate (center): Current heart rate in real-time.
Stress (numbers on the sides):
Left (smaller number): Average stress for today, calculated since midnight.
Right (smaller number): Current stress measured at the moment; the value updates every minute.
Body Battery (in the oval): Current body energy level as a percentage.
Center: Heart Rate History Graph
The graph visualizes your heart rate trend.
Displayed Period (X-Axis): The graph is 127 pixels wide and loads the last 127 historical samples from the watch API. Depending on the watch's data recording frequency, this typically represents the history of the last approx. 2 hours.
Hour Separators: Thin vertical lines in the graph visually separate individual elapsed hours.
Heart Rate Range (Y-Axis):
Right Axis: Fixed scale of heart rate zones (50, 100, 150).
Left Axis (box): Dynamically calculated maximum and minimum heart rate reached during the recorded graph period (top is the maximum, bottom is the minimum).
Bottom Section: Activity, Sun, and Device Status
Battery (top left in the bottom block): The battery icon displays the remaining days of battery life (e.g., 28d) and the percentage state (e.g., 95%).
Steps and Distance (bottom left):
Total step count for today.
Estimated distance covered today in kilometers or miles.
Temperature (top right in the bottom block): Current temperature and the maximum expected temperature for today (e.g., 28/34°C). Depending on the watch settings, it is displayed in either °C or °F.
Sun (bottom right):
Time of the next solar event – either today's sunset or tomorrow's sunrise, depending on the current time of day (e.g., 07:14).
Countdown time (hours and minutes) remaining until this event (e.g., -05:40).
Bluetooth: The icon next to the step count indicates that the watch is currently connected to a mobile phone.
