WindUp

WindUp is a weather data field that gives you real-time rain information for where you are and where you're heading, as well as relative wind direction and wind strength during your ride. Purposefully simple to read, understand and act on. Just the information you need during a ride — without fancy graphs, clutter or a paywall. The rain forecast uses your location, speed and heading to estimate where you’ll be in the next 30–60 minutes, then continuously updates the forecast along your projected route. WindUp also displays wind direction relative to you while moving, so you know where to expect the wind from and how strong it is. The screen updates every second. The weather forecast refreshes every five minutes and whenever you make a significant change in direction. Rain forecast • Current rain conditions while stationary • Rain forecast at your projected location while moving • Estimated rain arrival and clearing times • Six-hour sparkline showing the rainfall trend • Data staleness indicator Wind conditions • Wind direction relative to you while moving • Cardinal direction letters while stationary • Blue: up to 5 km/h • Green: 5–15 km/h • Amber: 15–25 km/h • Red: over 25 km/h Rain intensity wording and 6-hour sparkline bar height: • No rain: “Dry/Clear”, no bar • up to 0.2 mm/h: “Drizzle”, bar: short bar (10–25% height) • 0.2 – 1.0 mm/h: “Light”, bar: medium bar ( 25–50% height) • 1.0 – 4.0 mm/h: “Moderate”, bar: tall bar (50–75% height) • over 4.0 mm/h: “Heavy”, bar: full bar (75%–100% height) WindUp uses forecast data from Open-Meteo. Forecast accuracy depends on: • GPS accuracy • Phone connection and data availability • Availability and resolution of forecast data in your area • Rapidly changing local weather conditions Supported devices Edge 530, 540, 550, 830, 840, 850, 1030, 1040, 1050, Edge Explore 2 and Edge MTB.
