HR Limit Alarm
· v1.0
About
~~~~~HR Limit Alarm~~~~~
Garmin Connect IQ data field for cyclists. It monitors heart rate during an activity and provides a visual, audible, and vibration alert when the configured heart-rate limit is exceeded.
The alarm can be automatically suppressed in situations where a high heart rate is expected or less actionable:
- Low speed (default threshold: 13 km/h)
- Uphill grade (default threshold: 3%)
- Low climbing gear when compatible Di2 gear data is available
~~~~~Behavior~~~~~
- Default heart-rate limit: 140 BPM
- Alarm state flashes the display and triggers a tone and vibration
- Alerts are rate-limited to one trigger every 10 seconds while the limit is exceeded
- The display adapts to different data-field sizes and watch themes
- Uphill grade is calculated from altitude and distance changes and smoothed with an exponential moving average
