This classic ski wax thermometer recommends a certain ski wax (e.g. yellow klister) depending on temperature and snow condition (old vs. new snow).

The recommendations are:
A) New snow
WHITE (= Polar Wax): -30 °C to -15 °C
GREEN: -15 °C to -5 °C
BLUE: -5 °C to -1 °C
PURPLE: -1 °C to +2 °C
RED: +2 °C to +5 °C
YELLOW Klister: +5 °C to +30 °C
B) Old snow
GREEN Klister: -30 °C to -10 °C
BLUE Klister: -10 °C to -3 °C
PURPLE Klister: -3 °C to +3 °C
RED Klister: +3 °C to +30 °C
