Location Check - BETA
· v1.1.0 beta-upd4
About
THIS IS THE BETA VERSION OF LOCATION CHECK WIDGET
This version uses network connection to get the name of city of your LAST KNOWN LOCATION. This is to check that your LAST KNOWN LOCATION (data used in other apps, like Clarity Watch Face) is sufficiently near your actual current location so that data displayed is relevant. Adding the city name (looked up via network connection / google reverse geolookup) helps increase the understanding of this location. If you don't want that, you can revert to the non-beta version where no city name is displayed.
If you want the stable non-beta version, use: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/faa052cd-f224-4d79-b7af-984b486e98f5
---
This version adds name of city and country for displayed location. Only applicable if watch connected to internet via cell phone.
I'll be developing more in the direction of a basemap (with zooming possible) and navigation for aircraft (applicable to other transportation). I'll be using the "beta" channel to have people test it, and the normal channel when it's stable.

In the absence of a basemap, this widget shows you were you are on the world. It's not very precise because of the low resolution and lack of zoom feature (for now). But it is better than nothing. I have ideas on how to implement a zoom function, both when connected (should be released in November) and offline (this will take a lot longer).
I created this widget to make sure that computed sunset and sunrise times from Clarity (https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/f66889ef-699d-436f-8a02-cf484a5ab7ad) are based on my current location and not any previous location.
The position used by this widget is the latest known location by the watch.
Currently, only Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia are available. Some parts of the world are missing (Greenland, New Zealand). I'm investigating a better way to do maps.
