Terminal Rewrite
· v2.6
About
If you like my work and want to support future updates and new artistic watchfaces, feel free to buy me a coffee! Your support means the world: https://buymeacoffee.com/kruseco
----------------------------
Your watch doesn't just show the time. It types it.
Terminal Rewrite keeps it simple most of the time: just the time, big
and clean, no clutter. A few seconds before every minute changes, a
cursor quietly appears and blinks next to it — your cue something's
about to happen. Then, right on the tick, the cursor sweeps left
across the whole time, wiping it out one character at a time, and
sweeps back right, typing the new time back in behind it. Unhurried
on purpose: the whole rewrite takes about ten seconds, so you can
actually watch it happen instead of catching a flicker.
FEATURES
- Big, bold digits sized to fill the screen on every supported device,
readable at a glance
- A real block cursor drawn with shapes, not a bitmap, sized to match
the digits exactly — no oversized blob, no glyph
- Hidden until it's needed: the cursor only shows up for its
pre-minute blink and the rewrite itself, so the resting screen stays
just the time
- The rewrite plays live, in real time, every single minute you're
looking at the watch, deliberately paced so the erase-and-retype is
easy to follow; while resting, the display stays still to save
battery
- Four selectable color themes, changeable anytime from the Garmin
Connect app on your phone, no restart needed:
- Classic Green — the original phosphor terminal look
- Amber Terminal — warm CRT amber
- Cyberpunk Cyan — cool blue-toned neon
- Phosphor White — clean monochrome white
- Optional line under the time, off by default: show the date, today's
step count, both, or nothing at all — your call, set from the Garmin
Connect app
Built entirely from drawn text and shapes — no bitmap assets — to
stay light on memory and battery across every Garmin display.
For anyone who misses the command line every time they check the time.
