About

An analog expedition instrument for round AMOLED Garmin watches: a chapter ring, analog hands, and twelve places for your data around them. Three dial styles, three hand shapes, six colour themes, sixteen world clock cities, and every setting made on the watch itself. SOLAR COMPASS Put the solar compass in a sub-dial and it works out where the sun is from your position and the date, then draws the bearing, today's daylight arc, and where in that arc you are now. Sunrise and sunset become the two ends of a visible arc, brightest at midday. Below the horizon it dims to the theme colour, or turns blue on Atlas Prism, so a glance says whether the sun is up. Correct in both hemispheres, including the months the sun runs north. YOUR OWN HEART RATE ZONES The heart rate ring paces its colour by the zones set on your watch, each zone taking an equal share, so the same colour means the same effort on any wrist. 150 bpm is steady aerobic work if your maximum is 195 and nearly everything you have if it is 160. The marker's position stays absolute, so it is comparable day to day while the colour is yours. TWELVE SLOTS Three sub-dials, 20 instruments each. Eight readouts curved around the rim, 33 each. A centre line under twelve for the date, the time in digits, or 32 more. Any slot can be left empty. Body: heart rate, resting heart rate, Body Battery, stress, respiration, pulse ox, and sleep score on the fenix 8 and E generation onward. Activity: steps, distance, floors, intensity minutes, active and total calories. Training: status, recovery time, VO2 max run and bike, weekly run and bike distance. Outside: sunrise, sunset, solar bearing, weather, feels-like, the day's high and low, humidity, wind, UV index, altitude, barometric pressure. Everyday: second time zone with its city, battery, notifications, date. DIALS, HANDS, THEMES Paper wraps a warm white ruler band around the chapter ring, the way a field instrument is printed. Onyx leaves it black and reads as pure instrument. Ivory prints a numbered minute ring over a solid accent band, closer to a diver than a dashboard. Same geometry underneath. Hands are Blade (tapered), Baton (blunt) or Lance (a hollow outlined blade on a solid stem), plus Match dial, which follows whichever dial you pick. Atlas Prism gives every metric its own colour, so heart rate, calories and stress each read as themselves, and on Ivory it draws the accent ring as a spectrum of them. Signal Amber is warm instrument light, Glacier Cyan cold and clinical, Crimson Frost for night, Monolith White stays out of the way, Forest Green is the field option. ALWAYS-ON The same instrument turned down, not an emptier watch. Full colour, monochrome or clock only, chosen on the watch. It shifts itself a pixel a minute, which is what keeps an AMOLED panel safe from burn-in, and its tones sit inside the light budget a watch allows an always-on face. CUSTOMIZE Every setting, without your phone. Open Customize from your watch's watch-face settings (hold MENU where your watch has one). Seven sections: Dial, Hands, Rim, Sub-dials, Centre, Always-on, World clock. The Connect IQ app mirrors the same seven under the same names.
