Android Waypoint
· v1.1.22
About
Yet another way to send a waypoint from your Android phone to your watch, e.g. from a Geocaching app like c:geo. To keep things simple, this focuses on just waypoints.
For this to work, you need to install the matching "Waypoint to Connect IQ" app on your Android phone. Please follow the link to the companion app.
My use case is as following:
1. Open the "Android Waypoint" widget on your watch.
2. In c:geo on your phone, choose "navigate with an external app". As the external app, choose the "Waypoint to Connect IQ" app.
3. On your phone, click "Send to watch".
The waypoint will appear in your "Saved locations" list, so you can easily navigate to it using a suitable activity.
Please keep in mind you need to open the widget for this to work. Otherwise, the waypoint will not appear in the "Saved locations" list.
As you can see in the screenshots, internal conversion between different formats may lead to the last digit of the coordinates being off by one. I think in most cases, this is below GPS resolution, anyways. :-)
This widget does not connect to the internet -- it just receives waypoints from your phone.
This software is offered "as is" -- there are no warranties in any way.
Known limitations:
- On Instinct MIP devices, some of the text is covered by the top right circle. This may not look nice, but it should not impact functionality.
