Pickleball Free turns any Garmin watch into a dedicated pickleball scoreboard — no subscription, no in-app purchase, just a real scoring app built the way the game is actually played, from serve rotation to side-outs to deuce. MATCH SCORING Choose Traditional scoring (only the server scores) or Rally scoring (either team scores every rally) — Free supports both correctly, including proper serve rotation and side-out logic for Singles and Doubles, not a simplified approximation of either rule set. Set your own win score, play best-of-N games with a running series indicator, and pick how a game ends: Win by 2, Sudden Death (golden point), or a capped race to a fixed number. The scoreboard clearly flags deuce, game point, and side-out the moment they happen, so you're never guessing what a score actually means mid-rally. Tap to score, hold to correct a mistake, one tap to undo the last point — no digging through menus to fix a misscore while the next serve is waiting. In Doubles Traditional play, a small triangle marker under the score shows exactly who's serving — first server or second — so the double-fault rule never has to be tracked in your head. Playing a longer match? A running series indicator tracks games won across a best-of-3 or best-of-5, and the same scoreboard adapts automatically whether you're in Singles or Doubles. BUILT FOR THE COURT, NOT THE COUCH Vibration feedback confirms every point without needing to look down mid-rally. Game Alerts announce each game's end and log a split to Garmin Connect. Keep-screen-on is there for when you'd rather glance at the score than tap the watch awake between points. WHAT'S NOT IN FREE Pickleball Free is scoring only — no automatic shot detection, no swing speed tracking, no hands-free gesture scoring. Those live in Pickleball Pro. If all you need is a fast, accurate, no-friction scoreboard for real matches, Free is built for exactly that — nothing on the scoring side is held back to push an upgrade. BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY Pickleball Free runs on close to 60 Garmin watches, spanning screens from 218px up to 454px, and going back to 2018 — the Vivoactive 3 Music, the original Venu, and the Vivoactive 4/4s are all supported. Smaller screens automatically switch to a simplified scoreboard layout. Built on Connect IQ SDK 3.2.0+, coverage spans Venu, Vivoactive, Forerunner, fenix, epix, Approach, Descent, D2, and MARQ — including Venu Sq, a device Pickleball Pro can't support because its memory is too limited for Pro's shot-detection feature set, but which runs Free's lighter scoring engine without issue.
