About

Helix Heritage is a precision-crafted analogue watch face for Garmin, designed for those who wear a serious tool watch and still want it to look like a watch. Clean lines, restrained geometry, and a dial inspired by the golden era of mechanical chronographs: built for the wrist that demands both performance and presence. Helix Heritage takes its name from a defining shift in design language. In the 1990s, tools like AutoCAD made precision curves and rounded geometries suddenly accessible at scale. What followed was a quiet revolution, hard edges softened, circular forms emerged, and a new visual rhythm took hold across industrial and product design. For the full expression, Helix Heritage pairs naturally with Garmin’s titanium band, where the continuous curve of the links mirrors the dial’s geometry. Every element of Helix Heritage can be made yours. Choose from 27 carefully curated accent colours, each one hand-matched to Solar/MIP displays so it looks as considered on a memory-in-pixel screen as it does on AMOLED. Set your hands independently, dial in transparency levels, and choose whether your hour marks appear filled or as clean contour marks. The second hand runs in its own colour, separate from everything else. The dial features a battery arc: your hour marks quietly double as a battery level indicator, showing body battery or watch battery charge at a glance without cluttering the face. Functional. Invisible unless you know it's there. Two fully configurable complications keep the dial honest. Choose from the full metrics list to display exactly what matters to you: heart rate, steps, calories, weather, sunrise, floors, or more. A larger font option is available for those who prefer instant legibility over ornament. Helix Heritage is engineered for efficiency. The minimal complication count means your battery works harder for your workout, not your watch face. Complications supported: • Heart Rate • Intensity Minutes • Steps • Floors Climbed • Calories • Active Calories • VO₂ Max Run • VO₂ Max Bike • Body Battery • Stress • Pulse OX • Respiration Rate • Recovery Time • Move Bar (!on newer devices, shown under “10k Race Predictor” metric name!) • Current Weather • Temperature High/Low • Humidity (!on newer devices, shown under “Forecast Weather 3-day” metric name!) • Pressure (Sea-Level) • Wind Speed / Direction (!on newer devices, shown under “Current Temperature” metric name!) • UV Index (!on newer devices, shown under “Forecast Weather 1-day” metric name!) • Precipitation (!on newer devices, shown under “Forecast Weather 2-day” metric name!) • Solar Input • Tide (!on newer devices, shown under “5k Race Predictor” metric name!) • Moon Phase (!on newer devices, shown under “Sunset” metric name!) • Digital Time • Week Number (!on newer devices, shown under “Weekday/Monthday” metric name!) • Sunrise / Sunset • Calendar Events • Time Zones (DST-aware) • Notification Count • Battery Level • Training Status • Weekly Run Distance • Weekly Bike Distance • Phone Connection Lost Indicator *complications are optional and can be fully disabled. When configured without additional metrics, Helix Heritage becomes an even more minimal and classic timepiece, suitable for formal occasions and understated daily wear. This stripped-back configuration reduces visual complexity to its essentials and further improves energy efficiency, allowing the watch to operate with lower power usage. What's new

1.2: • configure different progress visualisations for 12-hr and 6-hr marks: - Body Battery - Steps - Intensity Minutes - Floors climbed - Stress - Pulse Ox - Solar Input (Solar devices exclusive) - UV index - Precipitation - Relative Humidity - Next Sun Event • further MIP screens fidelity improvements • updated pressure trend complication (shoutout Andy for the suggestion!) • improved Swiss font support on devices that offer it • squashed some rare crashes • misc bug fixes and performance improvements If you enjoy Helix Heritage, please consider leaving a review of this update: Ratings go a long way. They help us continue designing, developing and bringing new watch faces to life. Check out our data-rich watch face: Portal Hybrid, available under “More from this developer”. –––– 1.1 • Hands, properly weighted for MIP screens: Portal Hybrid and Modello GMT hands are now crafted for MIP screens and tailored in sync with • Helix Heritage's dial. Not just ported, adapted. • MIP hand shadows toggle: added. Works beautifully on some colour themes and hand styles. • MIP colour palette, corrected: Hand Fill and Second Hand colour menus now show the proper MIP colour set. What you see is what you get. • AM/PM marker: a clean 12-hour AM/PM indicator now sits below the time field for those who prefer the 12-hour system. • Larger Font, smarter: on devices without vector font support, the larger font option is now enabled by default. Toggle removed. • Second Hand on Crossover devices: fixed. It works now. • Auto black/white background for MIP: squashed an issue where parts of the dial were dropping out when this mode was engaged. • Metric labels toggle: turn your complication labels on or off. On by default, off for those who prefer a cleaner dial. Note that some labels work in synergy with the value: e.g. Clear 24°. • MIP hour marks: filled by default on MIP screens, as they should have been from the start. • Feels Like temperature toggle: added. Off by default. • Units toggle: choose between Follow Device, Metric, or Imperial independently of your watch system setting. • Tides and OWM: fixed a rare issue where weather data would not refresh, temperatures would stick to a single incorrect value, and tides data would fail to display when it should. • Metrics position on pixel shift: fixed an issue where complication positions would drift during pixel shift engagement. • Pressure units setting: added, since Garmin does not expose device pressure unit preference to watch faces. • Moon phase precision: improved calculation accuracy. • Epix Pro: fix for lagging second hand. Firmware-related bug, let us know if it worked via "Contact the Developer". 1.0.1: complications selector bug fix for SOLAR / MIP devices. Shoutout to Hundtsche for reporting this first! 1.0: Initial release of Helix Heritage. Inspired by the rise of digital curvature in the 90s, Helix Heritage brings rounded geometry into a modern tool watch format. Clean, configurable, and engineered for efficiency across AMOLED and MIP devices.
