WalkingPad
· v2.50.2
About
This data field connects Garmin watches via Bluetooth to the KingSmith WalkingPad, and branded devices, to show treadmill speed, distance or step data in real-time during your workout. Together with the Mode and other summary data and graphs, this is written to the FIT file, so they can be viewed in Garmin Connect once the activity is uploaded.
In the data field settings within the Connect IQ app, the automatic start and stop of the treadmill at activity starts and stops, as well as the displayed data field title and value (speed, pace, distance, steps, etc.), can be configured as described here:
https://support.garmin.com/?faq=SPo0TFvhQO04O36Y5TYRh5
Furthermore, it is possible to control the treadmill remotely via the smartwatch and change various settings (start speed, maximum speed, sensitivity in automatic mode, child lock etc.). A tutorial using the fēnix® 7 can be found here:

≡ OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED BY KINGSMITH
╰───
This data field is developed with the kind support of KingSmith, the manufacturer of WalkingPad treadmills - building on first-hand technical knowledge instead of guesswork.

≡ IMPORTANT
╰───
■ The recording does not affect Garmin's own step and distance fields.
Unfortunately, it's not possible for Connect IQ data fields to write to the native step and distance information.
This means your steps recorded by the data field are not added to your daily steps.
This is a Garmin restriction that I cannot do anything about. But maybe you can - by contacting Garmin. The more that do so, the greater the chance that this behaviour will be changed:
https://www.garmin.com/forms/ideas/
■ Before writting a review, please contact me if you have any issues!
This is a personal hobby project. KingSmith actively supports the development, but I am not employed by or commercially affiliated with KingSmith, Xiaomi, Garmin or any other company mentioned here.
If the data field does not work with your device, please contact me with an email address for inquiry rather than writing a negative review.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any suggestions for new features or improvements, or if you want to let me know which treadmills are compatible.

≡ KNOWN ISSUES
╰───
■ The connection cannot be established.
Make sure the WalkingPad is switched on, hold the watch close to it, and no other device is connected - in particular, close the KingSmith / KS Fit app on your phone, as a treadmill only allows one Bluetooth connection at a time.
■ Garmin Connect always displays kilometres and km/h, no matter what is set in the settings.
Garmin does not allow the unit to be dynamically set based on the settings in the FIT file. Unfortunately, there is also no conversion in Garmin Connect, so there is no easy solution for this problem.
However, it is possible to write to https://www.garmin.com/forms/ideas/ about this issue, and the more people write, the greater the chances that Garmin will address it.
