About
Free, no ads, collects nothing. Open source at https://github.com/waaGB/twitcher
*Show recent bird sightings near you, directly from eBird.*
Twitcher reads your GPS position and lists what has been reported nearby in the last week. Each species gets a rough silhouette so you can tell a gull from a warbler without squinting. A second section occasionally appears if anything locally unusual turns up.
It won’t identify a bird for you. No photos, no sound recognition. It simply tells you what other people have seen where you are standing, which is sometimes enough to work out what just flew by.

UP and DOWN to scroll. START to refresh.
*SETTINGS*
Search radius, 1 to 50 km, default 15. Days to look back, 1 to 30, default 7.
*NOTES*
Needs a phone connection for data. Only shows confirmed sightings, so lists are shorter but more reliable. Silhouettes are matched on species names and are occasionally wrong.
Bird data from eBird, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, contributed by volunteer birdwatchers worldwide.
