Train better with windbro.app! This app will help you to train for regatta starts. Ever wondered if you were beyond the start line when the horn blew? Pin a start line (typically a boat and a mark), and the app will tell you the distance to the line when the timer hits 0, together with speed (SOG) and direction (COG). The background will be highlighted in green if you were on time, or red if you crossed too early (UFD). Also, before the timer hits 0, the background will be highlighted orange if you are beyond the start line. The timer can also be used as a regatta timer. Sync up (+) and down (-) with the UP and DOWN buttons. When the timer is over 0, UP(+) button will restart to the default initial time. BUTTONS START: Start/stop the timer SETTINGS (up long press): Initial time, ALERTS, Rolling start, GPS-based metrics, Satellites, Activity, Reset to defaults, HELP, ABOUT BACK: Quick access ( -clock time-, pin BOAT, pin PIN, DELETE MARKS; DISCARD & QUIT; SAVE & QUIT), and BACK function in the menus UP: Sync timer up (more time). Also, reset to the initial time when the timer is greater than 0. DOWN: Sync the timer down (less time). Selected values are maintained across sessions. Change Activity Type at the beginning of the session - previous activity data before changing this setting will not be stored. To enable Alerts you might need to enable them at the watch level, at "Settings / System / Sounds / Alert Tones: ON" (sound) and "Settings / System / Sounds / Vibration: ON" (vibration). Also in the app, in the ALERTS menu sound and vibration need to be enabled to your preference. Rolling start: the timer will reset to the initial time when it hits 0, and continue the count-down. GPS-based metrics: option to use or not GPS metrics (e.g. for competitions). If disabled, only a timer will be displayed. GPS will still be used to record the session. Minor UI fixes for monochrome devices. Distance shown is the shortest path to the start line, between the committee boat and the pin. If you are not between the boat and the mark, you will see the distance to the boat or the mark, whichever is closer, not to the extension of the start line. Position accuracy will depend on your watch and settings. If you try the app on land, beware buildings can affect accuracy quite significantly. This issue is typically not seen on the water. Activity will be logged into Garmin Connect - exit the app by clicking on the "Save (Quit)" option in the quick menu (press BACK). You can also choose to not record the session - use the "Discard (Quit)" option. Optimized for 5-button Garmin watches like Fenix and Forerunner series, usable in others. In some touch devices, buttons like up and down are substituted by swipes, and the menu might be accessed through a BACK long press. In other watches like Forerunner, a long BACK press will bring you to your main watchface. LIMITED functionality in devices like Crossover, the timer is not visible under the analog watch bands.
