About

This data field is an update of my xDrip+/Spike/Nightscout data field. The main change is that the values are now queried with a foreground process, so that more frequent queries are also possible (e.g. every minute). It shows your CGM bloodglucose readings directly from xDrip+ app (Android only), AAPS (Android only) or with a web request from your Nightscout installation. +++++ FEATURES - Last bloodglucose reading (mg/dl and mmol/l), delta and minutes since last reading - TBR (%), IOB and COB (AAPS only) - Possibility to write bloodglucose and in Closed Loop mode also TBR, IOB and COB to the fit-file of your activity and see the values in Garmin Connect. +++++ PLEASE READ THIS ADVISORY Never make a medical decision based on a reading that you see on this data field, it's NOT a medical device! Always perform a fingerstick blood glucose check first. +++++ README and HELP The readme of my watchface also answers questions that may arise in connection with this data field: https://github.com/swissalpine/GARMIN-xDrip-Spike-Nightscout-Watchface/ It is highly recommended to inform yourself there about the setup and possible problems! +++++ INSTALL COMPANION APP You need to install the xDrip+, AAPS or Spike app or get readings via web request from Nightscout: https://github.com/NightscoutFoundation/xDrip/releases https://jamorham.github.io/#xdrip-plus https://github.com/Nightscout/AndroidAPS/ You didn't find these apps in app stores! +++++ To enable communications between this datafield and the Android companion app xDrip+ you have to enable “xDrip Web Service”, "Open Web Service" must be disabled (xDrip+: Settings - Inter-app settings). AAPS can also be queried directly. You need v3.2.0.4 or newer. Activate the Garmin plugin in the Config Builder, but do not define a request key (leave the field blank).. If you like to see your loop status you must enable AAPS as data source, xDrip+ status line isn't supported anymore. Another way to view your CGM data is to query the Nightscout values via the internet. Please enter your URL _WITHOUT_ "https://" and "/api/etc."! +++++ SETTINGS (via GARMIN MOBILE CONNECT or GARMIN EXPRESS) Choose AAPS or xDrip+ as data source. If Nightscout URL is selected, your Nightscout URL must be entered (e.g. "myname.herokuapp.com" without "https://" and without "/api/v1/"). Enable saving diabetic data to the fit-file of your activity. Adjust the delay of the request.

What's new

PLEASE NOTE --- Some edge devices enable WiFi when they are powered on and not recording an activity. In this case no Bluetooth connection to the smartphone will be established. If you don't receive any values on your edge device, check if there is a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone. Disable WiFi. --- One consequence of the change to a foreground request is that only newer devices can use this data field. If your device is not supported, use the otherwise functionally identical xDrip+/Spike/Nightscout data field: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/5a3e2cda-12f0-4afd-88ed-000e67a68d84 --- If xDrip+ and Juglucco are operated simultaneously with a web service activated in both apps, errors may occur. I recommend to deactivate the web service for Juglucco! In general: The app does not officially support Juglucco, but it is possible (source: xDrip+)! --- CHANGELOG V1.21 - Support for new devices (Venu 4 f. e.) v1.20 - Support for new devices (Fenix 8 microLED, Edge 550,850) v1.19 - Support for new devices (fr570, fr970, vivoactive 6) v1.18 - Another try to fix fit value display v1.16 - Support for new devices (vivoactive 6, Descent G2) v1.14 - Fix writing to fit file v1.13 - Fix a possible bug v1.12 - Adjust the background color to the global settings for the watch face (does not work on every device!) v1.11 - Revert new setting: works in simulator, but not on the device v1.10 - New setting: background color (white or black) v1.00 - Initial release
