ABOUT VIRGIL CREST ULTRAMARATHON The Virgil Crest Ultras are 50K/50M/100M ultramarathons plus a 100M relay run over the hills and gorges surrounding Virgil, N.Y. The event uses Finger Lakes Trail sections spanning the Tuller Hill and Kennedy State Forests and is paired with the signature terrain of Greek Peak Nordic and Alpine Resorts. THE VIRGIL CREST COURSE Virgil Crest Ultras offer parallel courses (50K/50M/100M) used in an out-back format that is repeated for the 100-miles. Approximately 26/46/92 miles are ran over hilly trail, with 3/3/6 miles of dirt/gravel forest road and 2/2/4 miles of asphalt. Elevation gain and corresponding loss is roughly 8,000/12,000/24,000 feet. The hills are constant and the terrain technical at times. Respective cut-off times are 10 hours for the 50K, 16.5 hours for 50-mile, 36 hours for 100-mile and 28 hours for relay. Stocked aid stations average every 5 miles.
