Watt Battery
· v1.0.4
About
Know what you've got left using critical power.
WattBattery is a clean, glanceable read of your remaining hard-effort capacity — shown as a simple battery on your Edge. The harder you push above your sustainable power, the faster the battery drains. Ease off and it recharges.
Two layers of information at a glance:
- Battery fill — how much capacity you have left (green/amber/red)
- Battery outline — what state you're in right now (red = depleting, green = recovering, black = steady)
Display mode is your choice:
- Percent (default) — classic W'balance remaining
- Time — seconds-precise time to empty when you're depleting, time to recover when you're rebuilding
Use it to:
- Time attacks — know whether you can go again
- Pace climbs — control your battery to the top
- Don't blow up — read the warning before you crack
- Train smarter — dont start that next interval until you recovery
Two essentials to enter once:
- Critical Power (CP) — the highest power you can sustain without fading
- W' (in kilojoules) — the size of your above-CP battery
Optional settings:
- Display Mode — percent or time
- Recovery Target — 90%, 95%, or 99% W' (when to consider yourself "recovered")
- Smoothing — 5 or 10 seconds

Built on the well-validated Skiba (2012) model also used by Golden Cheetah, WKO, and Xert. Numbers display inside the battery for clean readability at any size. Adapts to 1-up, 2-up, 4-up, 6-up Edge data screen layouts. Greys out cleanly when no power meter is connected. State persists through pauses, auto-pauses, and Edge restarts.
Made by Enhanced Endurance — coaching cyclists who fit training into real life, not the other way around.

What's new
v1.0.4 — Dark mode readability fix
- Numbers inside the battery now have a contrasting outline in dark mode, keeping them readable across all power states. Light mode unchanged.
v1.0.3 — Readability improvement
- Increased text size inside the battery icon for better at-a-glance reading, especially on larger data field cells. Based on user feedback after v1.0.2 release.
v1.0.2 — Display improvements
- Text now displays inside the battery icon for better readability on small data fields
- Battery outline changes color to show power state: red when depleting above CP, green when recovering
- New Time Mode (toggle in settings): shows time-to-empty or time-to-recharge instead of percentage
- New Recovery Target setting: choose 90%, 95%, or 99% W' as your "recovered" threshold
— Fixed: W'balance now correctly preserves state when swapping the field between data screen cells during an active ride. Previously the field would reset to 100% when moved mid-ride.
