About

# Ice Hockey Tracker Shifts, bench time and shots on indoor ice - the things your watch's built-in skate activity does not record. Indoors there is no GPS, so a generic activity gives you a duration and a heart rate curve and little else. Ice Hockey Tracker reads the accelerometer instead: it sees you step on the ice, times the shift, stops the clock when you sit down on the bench, and counts shots, stops and turns from the way you move. At the end you get ice time against bench time, shift count and average shift length, recovery after each rest, and an estimate of distance and speed - on a rink where GPS never had a chance. Outdoors, or on a rink where the signal is usable, it will take GPS as an extra source for speed, distance, track and the heat map. Indoors it does not need it at all. ## Key Features - Live shift timer - Ice time and bench time - Pickup, training, and match modes - Heart rate, average heart rate, and max heart rate - Recovery drop after bench rest - Calories burned - Workload score - Estimated distance and speed - GPS AUTO / GPS OFF start option for indoor rinks - Optional GPS speed and distance when location quality is usable - Shot count and shot power estimate - Stops, turns, and hard accelerations - Estimated time in rink zones - Nine watch screens: Live, Performance, Rink, HR Trend, Session Timeline, Track, Heat Map, Progress, and Calibration - Hybrid heat map that uses GPS when available and sensor estimates when GPS is poor or unavailable - Progress history for workload, ice time, calories, and recovery - Automatic bench calibration with REST AWAY protection for penalty-box or off-bench rests - Player calibration profiles: REC, AM, and PRO - Garmin Connect export fields for calories estimate, player profile, glide time, standing time, GPS distance, and distance source - Garmin-like end activity menu: save, discard, or cancel ## Supported UI Languages English, Slovak, Czech, German, Finnish, Swedish, French, Polish, Latvian, Danish, and Norwegian. - Improved responsive layout for different watch screen sizes. Distance, shots, zones, heat map, and GLIDE/STAND detection are estimates. GPS is used only when available and usable. Indoor GPS can be poor or unavailable, so the app may fall back to watch-sensor estimates. ## Important Accuracy Note This app is built for indoor hockey, where GPS is usually unavailable or unreliable. Distance, speed, shot count, shot power, heat map, and rink-zone time are estimated from watch sensors such as accelerometer, gyroscope, and heart rate unless GPS quality is usable. These values should not be treated as exact position, exact skating distance, or official shot statistics. They are intended as training and workload estimates. Calories are taken from Garmin activity data when available, otherwise estimated from heart rate and movement state. They should be treated as an energy-expenditure estimate, not a lab-grade measurement. Heart rate and elapsed time are generally more reliable than distance, speed, shots, heat map, or rink zones. For best results, calibrate the app with real skating drills and compare against video or coach observations.

What's new

# What's New - Version 1.01.047 This update asks for no new permissions, so it installs without you having to confirm anything. Now on the Approach S70 and S50 - The app can be installed on the Approach S70 (42 mm and 47 mm) and the Approach S50, alongside every watch it already supported. - Nothing about the app itself changed on the watches that already had it: the same shift detection, the same metrics, the same activity in Garmin Connect. If you play hockey and wear one of those watches, it now records your game the same way. - The older Approach S62 and S60 cannot run this app - their Connect IQ version is below what it needs. # What's New - Version 1.01.046 This update asks for no new permissions, so it installs without you having to confirm anything. A shot is not a sprint - The app decides you are shooting when your arm accelerates hard, and it decides you are sprinting the same way - at a slightly lower threshold. Every shot therefore counted as a sprint as well, adding to your distance and, worse, setting your top speed. A few swings at a desk were enough to record 17.5 km/h. - The second a shot is detected no longer counts as a sprint and can no longer become your fastest second. Shots are still counted, and you still get credit for the ground you cover while shooting. Your progress comparison starts fresh - The previous update fixed the app losing about 12 % of every session. That makes older sessions in your history roughly a twelfth short on ice time, workload and calories, and averaging them together with correct ones would make every new session look better than it is. Sessions recorded before that fix are therefore left out of the comparisons and records from now on. - Nothing is deleted. Your old sessions stay in the app; they simply no longer set the bar for the new ones. The progress page needs three new sessions before it has something to compare against again. # What's New - Version 1.01.045 This update asks for no new permissions, so it installs without you having to confirm anything. The clock was running slow - Ice time and bench time did not add up to the length of the session. The app counted a second each time it refreshed, and a refresh takes a little longer than a second - reading the sensors, writing the file and redrawing the screen all take their share. Every one of those fractions was thrown away. - Measured on a watch: 99 seconds counted out of 111, and 319 out of 367. About 12 % of every session went missing. - This was never only about the clock. Ice ratio, average shift and workload per minute are all worked out from ice and bench seconds, so all of them were short by the same amount. They are right now, and the times in the app match the length Garmin Connect shows for the activity. # What's New - Version 1.01.044 This update asks for no new permissions, so it installs without you having to confirm anything. Your sessions are hockey now - Garmin Connect filed every session as ice skating, because that is the sport the app wrote into the file. It now writes hockey, so the activity shows up as Ice Hockey where it belongs. This works on every supported watch, fenix 6 and enduro included - it was checked on the watch, not assumed. A split for every shift - The app marks a lap each time you step onto the ice and each time you come off it, so Garmin Connect shows a breakdown per shift: how long each one lasted, what your heart rate did, how long you sat between them. Nothing to press - it follows the same ice/bench detection the app already uses, because nobody is pressing buttons wearing hockey gloves. Each lap also carries its own shift time, shots and workload. Fixed: the app could die when you started an activity - Setting "FIT export" to "extended fields" killed the app the moment you pressed start. The watch allows an app 16 custom fields and quietly executes it on the seventeenth; the app asked for 23. That setting is gone. Choose what goes into the FIT file - Instead of o
