About

Live pacing against your own mkpace race plan: projected finish, how far ahead or behind you are, the next checkpoint, and cutoff risk. mkpaceLIVE is a single-field data screen that shows you, live during a race, how you are doing against your own mkpace pacing plan - computed entirely on the watch, fully offline once synced. Add it as a 1-field data screen on any Run activity. It shows: - Your confidence-ramped projected finish time, updated continuously - Whether you are AHEAD, BEHIND or ON TIME, with a signed delta against the plan - The next checkpoint and a countdown to it at plan pace - The climb and descent still to come before that checkpoint - A full-screen alert at every checkpoint: how the segment you just ran went, where you stand overall, and what the next segment holds - A cutoff warning when any upcoming checkpoint cutoff is at risk - even a downstream one, not just the next How it works: paste your mkpace plan link into this app's settings (Garmin Connect Mobile or the Connect IQ Store app, then your device, then this app, then Settings). In the first seconds of your run, with your phone in range, the watch fetches the plan once and caches it. The rest of the race runs fully offline, with no connectivity needed on course. Change races by pasting a new link; the next run picks it up. Requires an mkpace account and a generated race plan at app.mkpace.com. This app is a companion display for that plan, not a standalone pacing calculator. Important - to get the full-screen checkpoint alert, you must turn on data-field alerts for the activity on your watch: Menu, Activities & Apps, Run, Run Settings, Alerts, Connect IQ, then switch on mkpaceLIVE. Garmin ships this permission switched off for every Connect IQ field, so without it the alert never appears. You still get the same summary on the mkpaceLIVE screen itself for 60 seconds after each checkpoint. Illustrated user manual, covering installation, the plan link, alerts and how to read every number on the screen: https://app.mkpace.com/help/mkpacelive-manual.html Notes: course position is read from the GPS odometer and is not snapped to the course polyline, so expect the usual GPS drift on technical or narrow-switchback routes. Plan sync needs your phone to have connectivity when you start.
