About
Add a Sailing mode to your Garmin watch! This app has a start timer that helps you nail your start, a mark mode that gives you bearing and distance to the next mark on your race course, a tide view (US only) that tells you what the tides are doing now, and if you are in Puget Sound it will also tell you about local winds. The screens are designed to be quickly readable while presenting the information that you want while out on the water.
Timer features:
* Follows the normal ISAF sequence (5-4-1-go!). You can adjust the sequence length.
* Vibration on the minute, double vibration at 1 minute to go, a vibration every 10 seconds in the last minute, and a triple vibration when it is time to go!
* Sync to the nearest minute (up or down)
* Race tracking starts as soon as you start the race sequence and goes until you exit the app or reset the timer
* Shows race timer (counting down in sequence, up after the start), COG, SOG, and clock time
* Finish timer to keep track of the gap between your boat and competitor's boats
Mark view features:
* Distance, bearing, VMG, and current course are shown in large font. Speed and time are also available.
* Marks are defined by making a custom map in http://www.caltopo.com. Add a Marker Object for each mark that you want. Organize them in Folders if you prefer. When the map is saved note the map ID at the end of the map URL. The default map has marks for racing on Puget Sound and can be found at http://caltopo.com/m/GRU6.
* You can quickly change marks using the buttons on the device, or pick from a long list using the menu.
* An internet connection (through your phone) is required to download marks, but once downloaded the watch can be used without a connection.
* A maximum of around 35 marks is supported.
Tides:
* Allows you to select from the 10 tide stations nearest to you.
* Available for anywhere in the US.
* Shows a graph for 15 hours of data, highs and lows for 24 hours
* Calculated on the watch. Once you've selected a tide station no internet connection is necessary for updates.
* High/low accuracy is +/- 6 minutes due to simplifications necessary to run on the watch
* Note that tides are disabled on newer high resolution screens. Look for an update soon that brings them back.
Winds:
* See the latest wind observations from Puget Sound on your watch
* Downloads quickly and auto-updates every 10 minutes
* Use data downloaded from Bob Hall's WindObs page: http://b.obhall.com/pugetsoundwind/

What's new
New in 4.0:
* Supports most Fenix, Forerunner, and Epix watches. Updated design should work with any 5-button watch. I can't test most of these on hardware, so please contact me with feedback on how it looks on your watch, including your watches product info.
New in 3.2:
* Uses HTTPS to talk to the server, so it works with the latest watch and phone OS versions.
New in 3.1:
* Marks screen shows relative angle indicator on edge of screen
* Configure fields on timer screen
* Setting to enable automatic switching to marks screen at race start
* Major bug fix in tide charts
New in 3.0:
* UI restructured for round watches with hard buttons (also works on VivoActive3)
* Now supports most modern Garmin watches
* The old VivoActiveHR version is available here: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/3e11f467-0f45-41f5-b20f-44963dcd4722
