About

Retro Digital is a tribute to the readouts time forgot. Switch between four faithfully recreated retro displays, each tuned for the Garmin AMOLED: • VFD — the glowing cyan vacuum-fluorescent panel from VCRs, car stereos and hi-fi decks. Emissive segments in a glass tube, with the signature "all segments faintly lit" ghost and a fine control grille. • LED — the warm red seven-segment glow of an '80s alarm clock, each digit in its own bubble lens. • LCD — the crisp grey-green segment panel of a classic digital watch. • Mono — the positive (dark-on-light) LCD of a classic 80s digital watch: dark ink segments on a light glass substrate, with a subtle polarizer sheen. Every face is built for the display it imitates: authentic segment glow, ghost segments, a clean AM/PM indicator in 12-hour mode, and a standby always-on mode that keeps each technology's signature look while you sleep. SIX DATA FIELDS, AND YOU CHOOSE ALL SIX Every slot on every face is yours to set — calories, heart rate, Body Battery, steps, battery, floors, distance, notifications, active minutes, or off. Want calories bottom-left and Body Battery up top? Two taps. WHERE TO CHANGE IT Hold the face → Watch Face Settings, or open Garmin Connect → your watch → Watch Face → Settings on your phone. Both routes reach every option; nothing here needs a phone. EVERYTHING YOU CAN CHANGE • Pick the display: VFD / LED / LCD / Mono • 20 colorways. LED gets eight, named for the stones its bubble lenses look like: Carnelian · Amber · Ruby · Peridot · Sapphire · Amethyst · Aquamarine · Rose quartz. Four each on the rest: VFD (Classic cyan · Ice blue · Green · Dash amber), LCD (Grey-green · Blue-grey · Amber-grey · Violet-grey), Mono (Warm cream · LCD green · Paper white · Cool slate) • All six data fields, from the list above • The temperature line above the date, with its weather mark — on or off • Temperature units: Celsius (default) · Fahrenheit · Follow watch • 12- or 24-hour time (or follow system), with a compact AM/PM indicator • Toggle the control grille and the heritage label text SUPPORT Found a bug or have a suggestion? What's new

What's new (v1.1.0) THE TEMPERATURE, ON A LINE OF ITS OWN ABOVE THE DATE With a small weather mark beside it — sun, cloud, rain, snow or fog. Not one of the six data fields: a temperature is about the world rather than about you, so it gets its own place on the dial and its own on/off switch. It reads the weather your watch already syncs from your phone, so there is nothing to sign in to, and it shows a real minus sign below zero. Celsius by default, with Fahrenheit and "follow watch" a tap away. ELEVEN NEW COLORWAYS — NINE BECOME TWENTY LED (Pulsar) goes from two to eight, named for the stones its bubble lenses look like: Ruby, Peridot, Sapphire, Amethyst, Aquamarine and Rose quartz join Carnelian and Amber. VFD gains Dash amber; LCD gains Amber-grey and Violet-grey; Mono gains Paper white and Cool slate.
