About

Nice face to fit the Crossover layout. You can show almost any metric on the face, up to 12 at the same time. Weather and tides can show on the top and bottom areas. Tides work with a StormGlass API key which is free. It show tide times, tidal range, tidal coefficient, with the tide line or graph. Tide metric include previous and next tide event, previous previous and next next tide event, etc. If you like my work and would like to thank me, please give it a 5 stars. You also can offer me a coffee at https://ko-fi.com/svenlivonas Thank you!   SETTINGS Settings are set in the watch, to select the display options. Three themes are proposed, and up to three user sets can be saved. All options are saved but not the selected tide station, to save calls to the StormGlass server. Settings on the phone are to set timezones, the StormGlass key and tide station coordinates. Many fields, backgrounds, layouts can be combined, the watch doesn't check for overlaps and you may need some tries to get the face that you will like. Bear in mind that time zone fields show on two rows, and that the tide station name may be a long one.   FIELDS, AREAS, MINUTES TICKS When showing areas, the top area overrides fields at 11, 12, 1 o'clock, the bottom area overrides fields at 5, 6, 7 o'clock. To show minutes ticks is not very precise but may help to read time. It is more precise when hand are well aligned. The minute tick X and Y adjustments also apply to areas.   AUTHORIZATION GPS is requested to know the next sun event with sunrise ans sunset. Background and communication are requested to call StormGlass.io server to get tide information. Sensor history is requested to get the internal captor temperature   TIME ZONES To set the time zone offset from UTC (UTC offset = 0), set a decimal number with [hours.fraction of hour]. 0.25 is 15 minutes, 0.5 is 30 minutes, 0.75 is 45 minutes. The time zone shows on the face the date and time of the time zone. The letter (T) means the time zone time is tomorrow, (Y) means it is yesterday, when no letter means the time zone is in same day than your local time. Example: -3.75 for -3 hours 45 minutes, 6.5 for +6 hours 30 minutes.   TIDES StormGlass API is required, you can get a free one at https://stormglass.io/ where you only need to create an account and get your API key. The watch face makes one call per day to StormGlass server to refresh the tide table, plus one call each time the selected station is changed or latitude or longitude is updated. This works when the watch is connected to your mobile phone, and the phone is connected to internet. Longitude and latitudes which are already set are examples for BREST (France), HON DAU (Vietnam), LOS ANGELES (CA) -which is Santa Monica station-. Longitude and latitude must be entered as decimals, not degree-minute-second. If it is needed to convert coordinates to decimal, the formula is decimal = degrees + (minutes/60) + (seconds/3600) If numbers are known with cardinal point: - North latitude is a positive number. - South latitude is a negative number. - East longitude is positive number. - West longitude is negative number. When calling StormGlass, the server returns the closest station from the coordinates. You can check the returned information with station, distance, etc. in the settings.   CAPTOR TEMPERATURE This is the temperature given by the internal watch captor. This is usefull to know the water temperature when swiming in the sea or swiming pool. It shows the water temperature after swiming for few minutes. It can be calibrated by adjusting it in parameters. The default is +0.9° as Garmin watches are generaly pessimistic.   KNOWN BUG If you select the first built in Garmin watch face, the one installed when you started the watch the first time, then you can't come back to Mimic face, the "Apply" option doesn't show. The workaround is to select any other watch face which is not the first one in Garmin's list, then you can come back to Mimic face.

What's new

1.2.4 THIS VERSION RESETS ALL LAYOUT & USER SAVED SETTINGS - OTHER SETTINGS ARE NOT TOUCHED. Add next tidal coefficients data in fields. 1.2.3 For watches with hands, not Instincts. Add feature to position the hands horizontally for a few seconds, improving readability, when hiding and showing twice the watch face within one second. Use the bottom left and middle left buttons to hide and show the watch face. Press the Back button at the bottom right if you want to show back the time immediatelly. 1.2.2 Add the Tidal Metric menu on the watch, after the Tidal Area, to replicate the phone setting. 1.2.1 Fix the display of the tide status information in the settings where a reference tide range didn't show. Now show the rising and falling reference ranges. 1.2.0 Add tidal water levels, and adjustment of the hydrometric zero. Add new Tide Area to show tide line/curve in a larger format. When set, the Tide Area overrides the Bottom Area and fields at 4, 5, 7, 8 o'clock. The way to select the tidal metric to show has changed, and to change the metric applies immediatelly without requiring to load the StormData again. 1.1.1 Minor local time on top area adjustment. 1.1.0 Added Instinct 2, 3 and E watches, regular and X, not the small ones. Fields 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock are disabled for Instinct. The top area is very limited for Instinct, almost only the Date and the Weather work well. Recommendation is to set 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock field with the local time and seconds, and set a large font (see screenshot example). The tide line and tide graph work well with Instinct watches on the bottom area, but the numbers are very large and may be difficult to read, by the way I couln't make better readibility.   1.0.1 Fixed minor bug managing the standard/alternative tidal calculation. 1.0.0 All is fine, same as 0.6.38, but now officialy the first full version!   0.6.38 Add source in parenthesis to StormGlass station name, add phone connexion flag "X" to DND icon. 0.6.33 Better manage StormAPI calls when updating settings, make call when latitude or longiture or standard/alternative calculation changes. Other settings don't trigger a call (any setting change on the phone previously triggered a new call, whatever was the setting). 0.6.32 Added setting to display the tidal range. 0.6.30 Added local time without seconds and DND icon to notification&alarms. Best regards Ivan. 0.6.6 - 0.6.27 Tidal coefficient debugging. Sorry if you need to enter again your Storm API key. 0.6.3 Added Weather option, in the top and bottom areas. 0.6.2 Added calories. New optional setting to set total daily rest calories, if you want to substract and display active calories. 0.6.1 Updated tide coefficients calculations and options.   24.09.2024 - 0.5.0 Fixed tidal coefficient calculation for semidiurnal tides. 0.4.4 Added semidiurnal flags in settings to calculate tidal coefficients. You may need to enter again your settings. 0.4.0 Added calculation of the tidal coefficients, useful for semidiurnal tides having two high tides every day, not for diurnal or mixed tides. Tide coefficients show on the tide line and graph. 0.3.4 Added daily tide line and tide graph in areas 0.2.2 Added fonts, added areas, fixed Past Tide Event 0.2.1 Added fonts and other things. This version will reset your settings 0.1.6 Updated backgrounds 0.1.3 New backgrounds, better icons, new field settings (I think that you will need to enter them again after installing it), fix crash when off the phone after few hours, fix crash when show tide with no tide data 0.1.1 Almost done, everything is here and working, but not yet the weather 0.0.9 - 0.0.13 Manage sunrise & sunset. Completed backgrounds. Added icons. Added areas to show info (hard coded, will be options later). 0.0.2 - 0.0.8 Added backgrounds, added version info in settings 21.06.2024 - 0.0.1 - First version
