The data is recorded to the Activity FIT File. The configurable settings are: - FIT Recording: Turn on or off the FIT recording option. This can save battery and save when using the Smart Recording device setting. - Lap Reset: Reset the statistics on each Lap. - Display Mode: Display either the number of steps during the activity, total daily steps or remaining steps. Both can also be shown as a percentage of your daily goal. Please note, the settings much be changed before the activity starts. If the Data Field is unable to collect the number of steps, --- will be displayed. The options can be changed within Garmin Express on your desktop or mobile device.
