About

NOTE: Dogtracking is a training app – not a GPS tracker for finding or locating your dog. It is designed to help handlers lay, time, and document tracking sessions with their dog. Dogtracking is a Connect IQ app for Garmin watches, designed for handlers training tracking with their dogs. The app guides you through all three phases of a training session, laying the track, the aging period, the dog’s tracking work and automatically detects each article when you and your dog reach it. Start by walking the track while the app records your path and GPS position. Press LAP each time you place an article; the app stores the exact coordinates. When the track is laid, press START to begin the aging timer, which counts toward your target rest time. When the aging period is complete, press START again to begin the tracking phase. As your dog works the track, the app compares your current position with each saved article location and automatically marks an article as found when you have remained within 3 meters of the article for 15 seconds. Features • Supports any number of articles per session • Vibration alert when approaching an article (within 15 meters) • Double vibration confirmation when an article is found • Aging timer with progress bar and vibration alert at the target time • GPS lock screen before the tracking phase begins, with signal quality indicator • Manual override: mark an article as found using the BACK button • Saves the session as a FIT activity, including article count shown as laps • Multi GNSS support (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou) on supported devices Known limitations(or annoys me) • On the activity map in Garmin Connect, you will see a straight line connecting the end of the track laying path to the start of the tracking run. • The total distance shown in the FIT activity is the combined distance of the track laying and the tracking run. Button layout • START – begin track / end track / start tracking / pause • LAP – place article (during track laying) • BACK – place article shortcut / mark found (during tracking) / save and exit Settings • Found radius (default 3 m) • Near alert radius (default 15 m) • Stationary time for auto-found (default 15 s) • Aging time goal in minutes (default 45 min) • Ignore period after resuming (default 10 s) • Minimum track point distance (default 1 m)

What's new
