About

The Ottai CGM is an UNOFFICIAL data field designed for use with the Ottai continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system. This data field was developed because, for reasons unknown to me, the official Ottai app does not support the Garmin Edge. The data field allows users to view real-time glucose information from the Ottai mobile app on compatible Garmin wearables. Requirements: - An active Ottai CGM sensor; - The Ottai mobile app installed on your smartphone; - The Ottai Share mobile app installed on your smartphone (for initial setup only); - The PCAPdroid mobile app (Android) or a compatible app installed on your smartphone (for initial setup only); - Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection between your smartphone and the Garmin wearable; - An internet connection and the Ottai app running in the background on your smartphone are required for syncing. Setup: 1. To obtain an authorization token, you must: - Register in the Ottai Share app (Important! The registration emails for the Ottai and Ottai Share apps must be different!); - In the Ottai app, send an invitation to share data with an Ottai Share user; - Accept the invitation to share data in Ottai Share; - Enable TLS decryption in PCAPdroid settings (requires installing PCAPdroid mitm) and install the certificate according to the instructions; - In PCAPdroid, select the target Ottai Share app and start capturing traffic; - Launch Ottai Share; - Switch to PCAPdroid and find "authorization: eyJhbGc..." in the request headers - eyJhbGc... this is your authorization token (the token changes approximately every six months or when you authorize in Ottai Share). 2. Configure the Ottai CGM data field: - Fill in the authorization token field obtained in step 1; - If more than one user has been added to Ottai Share for data exchange, you must also specify an Ottai username (not the profile name!); - Select units of measurement. Usage: - Data is synced every 5 minutes; - The device beeps when new data is received; - If data is delayed for more than 1 minute, the device beeps - this indicates that the Ottai app is not running on the smartphone; - Glucose data is saved to a FIT file. Important! The Ottai CGM data field is for convenience and informational purposes only. It is not intended to replace the official Ottai mobile app, professional medical advice, physician recommendations, or standard self-monitoring methods recommended by healthcare professionals.
