2. Fueling and energy reminders
3. Electrolyte reminders
4. Effort alerts based on heart rate
5. Adjustable settings for distance, elevation gain, weather, and terrain
6. Works offline, directly on the watch
7. Simple race/training screen
User Settings
UltraCoach Field can be customized from the Garmin Connect IQ app.
To personalize it for a specific training session or race, open the Connect IQ app on your phone, go to your installed apps/data fields, select UltraCoach Field, and edit its settings before starting your activity.
These settings help the Data Field adjust reminders based on your route, effort, terrain, weather, and race goal.
You can configure:
1. Mode: choose between training or race.
2. Terrain: road, soft trail, or technical mountain.
3. Target distance: total planned distance in kilometers.
4. Target positive ascent: expected elevation gain in meters.
5. Start elevation: elevation where your activity starts.
6. Expected maximum elevation: highest elevation expected during the activity.
7. Estimated weather: cold, mild, hot, or very hot.
8. Estimated duration: expected total time in minutes.
9. Base hydration interval: how often you want hydration reminders.
10. Base food interval: how often you want fueling reminders.
11. Base electrolyte interval: how often you want electrolyte reminders.
12. Recommended effort zone: target effort zone for the activity.
13. High heart rate threshold: heart rate level where the Data Field should warn you.
14. Alert style: soft, normal, or strict.
15. Runner level: beginner, intermediate, advanced, or ultra-focused.
By default, UltraCoach Field includes general preset values. For better results, especially before a race, update these settings manually based on your route and goal.
Important Notice:
UltraCoach Field does not replace professional medical, nutrition, or training advice. Alerts are general reminders only. Always use your own judgment, experience, body signals, and real-time conditions during training or racing.
