Orienteering Datafield. Create a new Activity (or edit the "Other" Activity) and add this datafield to a Data screen, configure the Data screen to have a 1 field layout. Handles line courses and score courses Records results in Garmin Connect To use: Once the activity is selected, Check the text at the bottom of the page to confirm that you have the correct activity downloaded. The screen will show the distance to the start triangle. Once inside the start triangle the watch will beep and the "Next Control" will show "1". When ready push the start button and the event will start timing. Do not forget to push start! When you visit a control site the watch will beep and vibrate then the next control number will advance. This version shows the distance to the next control. It also show the direction via the blue marker. When the finish control is reached the timer will stop automatically. You can then stop the session and save the activity just as you would for a normal run. In the Garmin Connect Stats panels the time of the event will be recorded. There will also be a graph of your distance to the next control. This Datafield only holds the data for a single event. When a new event is released you simply have to sync your watch in Garmin Express and the new event will be loaded.
