Ultra-Trail Dashboard
· v1.2.0
About
Ultra-Trail Dashboard is a Data Field built for mountain runners who want to know not just where they're going, but how long until they give out, and why.
The four basics:
• Current pace
• Heart rate
• Smoothed grade, a configurable moving average instead of Garmin's native instant grade, which is often too jumpy on technical terrain
• GAP (Grade Adjusted Pace), your flat-equivalent pace computed with the scientific Minetti model
The physiological engine:
Unlike every other data field on the market, Ultra-Trail Dashboard doesn't treat your threshold as a fixed number for the whole race. It tracks three separate systems, each with its own time to failure:
• Anaerobic reserve, built on a threshold that decays as effort accumulates, not a constant one like everything else on the market
• Carbohydrate balance, a real energy account with delayed gut absorption, not a timer that buzzes every 30 minutes
• Descent damage, the factor that ends most mountain ultras before the lungs do: your legs
The LIMIT field shows the minimum of these three times and renames itself to whichever system is holding you back: reserve, carbs, or legs. You always know not just how much you have left, but what to do about it: ease off, eat, or manage the descent.
All 4 quadrants are configurable from Garmin Connect Mobile, with a choice of nine different sources. The engine self-calibrates from your own training runs: nothing to enter before it starts working.
Other features:
• GAP, reserve, carbohydrate balance and descent damage are all written into the activity's .FIT file, so they stay analyzable after the run on Garmin Connect and Strava
• Automatic warning color on grade and on any system approaching its limit
• Automatic units based on your device settings
• No internet connection required, no data collected: all calculations happen entirely on-device (see Privacy Policy)
Built for Fenix, Epix, Enduro, MARQ Adventurer/Expedition and Forerunner models with a barometric altimeter, also available on models without one (grade then falls back to GPS-derived elevation).

What's new
What's new in 1.2.0
Two new physiological engines: real carbohydrate balance (not a 30-minute timer) and leg damage from descending, the two things that actually end a mountain ultra. The GAP field now includes a time-to-limit readout that renames itself to whichever system is closest to failing: anaerobic reserve, carbs, or legs. All 4 quadrants are now configurable from Garmin Connect.
