A data field designed to be clean, minimal, and purposeful, providing only the essential indicators for effective and focused training, especially tailored for advanced athletes. It can be added to any screen layout, from 1 to 7 fields, without any issues. This allows you to maximize the information displayed during your activity. Since the field uses only one layout slot, you can easily combine it with other Garmin metrics such as: timer, distance, pace, speed, slope, lap time, lap pace, or any additional data you find useful. It is purpose-built to track effort in real time, grounded in individual lactate response and heart rate at lab-measured or field-tested thresholds — not estimates like FTP or training pace, which are performance proxies, not physiological markers. Unlike traditional metrics, this field does not rely on FTP, %HRmax, or pace, which fail to reflect true metabolic intensity.
