AsturaSail

AstiraSail is a non professional app for sailing. It can display several parameters like actual and average speed, traveled distance, elapsed time, boat direction, wind direction and VMG speed. Wind direction can be set in the main menu and VMG speed is consequently calculated related to that direction. There is also the possibility to select between “Cruise Mode” (default) or “Race Mode”. In “Race Mode” when the start button is pressed a start timer is displayed in the elapsed time field. Pushing start, the race timer starts and, as it is expired, the app automatically starts the activity recording. During the activity you can switch between 3 views: • The Main Data view • The Watch view to see the time • The Compass view with the wind and boat directions Main Menu Items: • Exit App: closes the app • Set Wind Dir: sets the wind direction through a compass view • Race Mode: switch between Race Mode and Cruise Mode • Set Race Timer: sets the duration of the race start timer • Last Sail: if available, shows the last sail data Parameters: • Main View: ◦ ACT Sp: Actual Speed (knots) ◦ AVG Sp: Average Speed (knots) ◦ MAX Sp: Max Speed (knots) ◦ Dist: Distance (Marine Miles) ◦ ELA Time: Elapsed Time (HH:MM:SS) ◦ ACT HR: Actual Heart Rate (hr) ◦ AVG HR: Average Heart Rate (hr) ◦ MAX HR: Max Heart Rate (hr) • Compass View: ◦ VMG: VMG Speed (knots) ◦ KSP: Boat Speed (knots) ◦ ATW: Angle To Wind (degrees) ◦ KAT: Boat Direction (degrees)
