About

This Data Field app allows you to display and record Power in watts for running from within the Garmin Run Activity app, so you can combine power with Running Dynamics from the Garmin HRM-Run strap (Ground Contact Time, Stride Length, Vertical Oscillation, etc.). The RPM² Power Meter insole connects to the Garmin watch just as if it were a bike power meter, using the Settings for Sensors and Accessories. Once added to the power meter list, it should reconnect for future workouts. Use the RPM² iOS or Android Bluetooth app (see link below) to calibrate the power meter insole and enable ANT+ transmission BEFORE trying to connect to the watch as a power sensor.

What's new

NEW version 2.02 enhances accuracy for running hills, including higher workloads running uphill and lower workloads running downhill. Requires Garmin GPS-enabled watch and reliable GPS satellite accuracy to include hill effects on power. Flat-track runners, indoor runners, and sports played on a level field are not affected and no GPS is required. Previous version 1.0 was the first-ever Garmin watch app for the RPM² Power Meter Insole transmitting over the ANT+ bike power meter channel. Previous versions of RPM² allowed only for Bluetooth data transmission to iOS and Android devices. Supported for 735XT, 920XT, 935XT and Fenix series Garmin watches. You have the ability to Display on the watch screen and Record to the FIT file: 1. 3-second average power (recommended default) 2. 10-second average power 3. Live one-second power 4. Lap power average 5. Average power for entire workout Use the Download button from this listing, and then open Garmin Express to Manage Apps and select the desired field for display with other data fields during the workout. Only one RPM² Power Data Field can be displayed live, but ALL power fields are recorded to the .FIT file for upload to Garmin Connect or Training Peaks, including things like 3s and 10s average power. To change to another live data field, reconnect watch, open Garmin Express, then Manage Apps, then select another field from the list. As with other power meters, we recommend setting your Garmin watch to recording every second (1-second recording), NOT Smart Recording, for best results.
