About

Displays the position of the sun in an analog style. GAUGE on the right provides the sun's ALTITUDE above or below the horizon. A colored gradient is shown when altitude is between -15 and 15 degrees to indicate: -Sunrise/sunset (pink zone) -Civil twilight (light blue zone) -Nautical twilight (dark blue zone). In the morning, civil twilight begins when the sun is 6 degrees below the horizon and ends at sunrise. In the evening, it begins at sunset and ends when the sun reaches 6 degrees below the horizon. Under clear weather conditions, civil twilight approximates the limit at which solar illumination suffices for the human eye to clearly distinguish terrestrial objects. Enough illumination renders artificial sources unnecessary for most outdoor activities. At civil dawn and at civil dusk sunlight clearly defines the horizon while the brightest stars and planets can appear. As observed from the Earth (see apparent magnitude), sky-gazers know Venus, the brightest planet, as the "morning star" or "evening star” because they can see it during civil twilight. Nautical twilight occurs when the geometrical center of the sun is between 6 degrees and 12 degrees below the horizon. Before nautical dawn and after nautical dusk, which are the moments when the sun is at 12 degrees below the horizon in the morning and in the evening, sailors cannot navigate via the horizon at sea. At nautical dawn and nautical dusk, the human eye finds it difficult, if not impossible, to discern traces of illumination near the sunset or sunrise point of the horizon ("first light” after nautical dawn but before civil dawn and "nightfall" after civil dusk but before nautical dusk). Other displayed information: A 360 degrees STRIPE shows the azimut of the sun turning around North, East, South and West marks. Bottom BAR displays the battery level, on round watch faces it is shown as an arc from left to right. REMAINING TIME before sunset or sunrise. The BLUETOOTH icon indicates that the watch is connected to your phone. There's also a MESSAGE icon indicator. INFORMATION: As the GPS position is necessary to calculate the sun's relative position, it is automatically retrieved from last activity's information and stored in the watch face settings. SETTINGS can be updated from Garmin Connect and Garmin Express. It is possible to force the GPS position using MANUAL option. At first use, if the latest watch activity does not contain any GPS position, the watch face will use factory settings. Procedure to get the auto GPS position REFRESHED: 1. Simply open an application (sport activity) that uses GPS and wait for the signal to be found. 2. Go back to the watchface (no need to start the activity) SETTINGS: A few settings can be changed such as INDICATORS and BACKGROUND COLORS or GPS POSITION.
