About
Stop Training Blind. Start Cycling Smart.
A complete endurance cycling dashboard that brings all critical performance metrics into a single screen.
• 2 key thresholds: LTHR & FTP
• 7 color-coded zones for Heart Rate & Power
• 2 low-value transition zones (TL, TH – avoid)
• Fully aligned with polarized training models (Dr. Stephen Seiler)
• dEF™ (Dynamic Efficiency Factor) for real-time performance & fatigue control
• Ride Stress Score (RSS) in real time (TSS-like, non-linear)
• 6 metabolic fuel zones: Base, Fat, Balance, Glycolysis, Carb, Over
• Fat & Carb Burner shown in real grams
• PhysioCadence Slope Pilot™ for optimal RPM on every gradient
Same thresholds. Same colors. One goal:
to know if your training is actually working.

During a workout, what do you really watch?
Heart rate or power?
And which one is actually leading?
If power is correct but heart rate keeps rising — do you continue?
If heart rate looks fine but performance drops — do you push?
Are you in the right zone, for the right reason?
Garmin shows you data.
EnduroMetrics-Edge shows you how to read them together — in real time.

Triangulation Protocol™
Every workout has cost and output.
The mistake starts when you look at only one.
EnduroMetrics-Edge is built on three anchors:
• Effort: Heart Rate relative to LTHR
• Performance: Power relative to FTP
• Control (dEF™): performance vs accumulated fatigue, live
Two thresholds. One performance control system.

What leads each workout type
Long Ride / Recovery / Aerobic Base
• Effort leads
• Heart rate defines intensity
• If dEF™ drops → reduce intensity
Tempo / Threshold / VO₂max / Intervals
• Performance leads
• Follow power
• If dEF™ falls below ~0.93 → intensity becomes too costly

How to read it on Edge
• Top bar: Effort (HR vs LTHR)
• Bottom bar: Performance (Power vs FTP)
• dEF™: fatigue & efficiency control
One glance tells you what is leading.

PhysioCadence Slope Pilot™ – Perfect RPM Every Gradient
• Real-time analysis of power, slope, speed & torque
• Feedback: +++ spin faster | === optimal | --- slow down
• Climbs: protects muscles, reduces glycolytic overload
• Flats: stabilizes rhythm, delays fatigue

dEF™ – Catch fatigue early
• Detects cardiac drift, decoupling, fatigue, dehydration, overheating
• 5 zones: STRONG → EXHAUSTED
• Prevents bonks, overtraining & race-day mistakes

From watch to training plan
Same thresholds & color logic across EnduroMetrics.
The free Formula Generator helps you build structured workouts,
while the data field supports any plan: coach-made, self-built or third-party —
giving real-time control of intensity and efficiency.

What's new
Version 1.1.11
Improved Cadence text readability in direct sunlight with high-contrast white-on-black outlined text
Version 1.1.10
Enhanced readability: Larger font sizes for HR, Power, Distance & Speed values, plus bigger cadence display for improved visibility on all Edge models
Version 1.1.9
Fixed: SlopePilot slope display freezing. The slope indicator could become permanently stuck when starting a new activity without changing the biking profile first.
Version 1.1.8
• ADD Edge 550
• FIX Cumulative values (EffortRSS, PerformanceRSS) reset after stop / standby / resume
• FIX Carb consumption drop and fat jump after stop / standby / resume
• IMPROVE SlopePilot physiologically revised cadence model: The optimal cadence calculation has been updated based on peer-reviewed research (Coast & Welch 1985, Foss & Hallén 2004, Dunst et al. 2024)
Version v1.1.7
1. Smoother power display — especially for single-sided power meters A new "Power Smoothing" setting with 4 options lets you control how stable the power reading appears on screen:
• 0 - Raw — no smoothing, instant response
• 1 - Light (~5s) — slight smoothing, good for most dual-sided meters
• 2 - Medium (~8s) — recommended for single-sided meters, eliminates the noisy flickering on the power bar and effort indicators
• 3 - Heavy (~12s) — for very noisy sensors, gives the most stable reading
• 4 - Max (~21s) — maximum stability for the smoothest possible display
The smoothing affects everything consistently the power zone bar, the dEF effort indicator, and the workout file so what you see on screen always matches what gets saved. Default is 1.
2. Nutrition & stress scores no longer reset when switching profiles mid-ride If you change your activity profile during a ride, your carb, fat and effort scores now carry over correctly. They only reset when you start a brand new activity.
3. Version number now visible in app settings You can now see the current app version directly in your Garmin Connect IQ settings.
