About

WARNING: The app is intended only as an in-flight aid and should not be used as a primary information source. This watch face contains a barometric altimeter, it will not function in a pressurized aircraft and should not be used in a pressurized aircraft. Vemera Glass is an analogue watch face built for time in the air. Instrument black, antique gold and cream. Numerals drawn for this dial rather than borrowed, faceted hands lit from a fixed point on the face, and an aircraft at twelve. Every element measures something — nothing is there as decoration. **What it shows** • **Civil twilight** — the end of evening civil twilight, which is when night logging begins. Computed astronomically from your position, not looked up. Night has three separate legal definitions and this is the one that is hard to find. Above roughly 60° north in high summer the dial reads NO NIGHT, because there is none. • **Zulu** — always UTC, never your local setting, in its own gold readout. • **Barometric pressure** — with the three-hour tendency a pilot plans against: falling fast, falling, steady, rising. Shown in hPa or inHg. • **Wind** — speed and the bearing it comes from. Knots, metres per second or km/h. • **Second time zone** — home base or destination in place of twilight, if you would rather have it there. • **Your registration** — the aircraft's tail number, on the dial. **Built for the screen** In low power the display rests pure black. That is a deliberate choice to protect the AMOLED panel from burn-in, rather than dimming the day dial. Nothing on this face is drawn thinner than 2.2 pixels on any supported watch, and the hands step on the whole minute and hold still in between, as a mechanical movement does. **Settings** Dial colour (Instrument Black, Ink Navy, Gunmetal, Ivory), six hand families, the mark at twelve, the top field, pressure and wind units, the second time zone offset, seconds hand style, and your registration. Settings are in English and the dial itself is in English. **Before you fly** BARO is this watch's own barometer reduced to sea level using the watch's own altitude estimate. It is not an issued altimeter setting and must not be used as one — take QNH from ATIS, ATC or a METAR. Wind and temperature come from the watch's weather service, not from an aerodrome observation, and may be an hour old. Vemera Glass is a watch face, not a navigation instrument, and carries no aeronautical data. --- Vemera Studio builds a small portfolio of prestige watch faces — Vemera Dress, Vemera Summit, Helm and Gold Victoria are also on the store.
