About

This is the companion watch app for the SWIMTAG platform. The app can be used standalone on your watch, but for the best experience - sync with your (Free) SWIMTAG account (www.swimtag.com) to get the full benefit. Note: If you are a competitive swimmer that utilises Garmins training plans, heartrate analysis or training effect features this App is probably not for you! Why use SWIMTAG vs. Garmin Pool Swim? ---------------------------------------------------- The SWIMTAG App offers a number of additional features for pool swimmers for tracking their progress over time and taking part in social challenges and competitions via your SWIMTAG account. In addition to this we have also integrated our own in-house machine learning model to provide improved post-upload processing to ensure your swimming results are accurate (read more below). How Do I See My Swim? ---------------------------------------------------- With SWIMTAG you can easily make changes to your swims using our Swim Editor tool, the motion data from your Garmin watch is sent to us along with the swim results so that you can really see your swim and make adjustments to your data afterwards. This is especially important when you are taking part in one of our virtual competitions or challenges and one length can make the different between 1st and 2nd. On top of this we have also developed a customisable UI that lets you pick the layout and statistics that are important to you in the pool. You can choose from the following live stats: -Distance / No Lengths or Laps / Interval Distance -Ave Pace / Interval Pace -Rest Percentage -Total Time / Interval Time / Swim Time -Stroke Rate / Distance Per Stroke -Calories Burnt -Ave Heartrate / Current Heartrate -Display Live Motion Data During a swim you can add Drill Items (hand paddles, fins, kickboard etc.) and you lengths will be automatically tagged in SWIMTAG. Will my results still appear in Garmin Connect?- ---------------------------------------------------- Yes, under the hood SWIMTAG uses the same swim detection algorithm as the default Pool Swim app, it will still sync to Garmin Connect in the same way as before. So if you decide SWIMTAG is not for you, just switch back and you won't have lost any data. Getting Started ---------------------------------------------------- Simply open the app on your watch, from the Home screen ensure the pool size is set correctly and update if necessary (select CHOOSE POOL from the main menu). then choose START SWIM or press ENTER to start recording a swim, you will see a countdown before it starts recording. Once swimming you can press the BACK/LAP button on your watch to add a rest (or interval) manually, this will pause the swim recording so that no new laps will be accidentally recorded. When you are ready to start swimming again press BACK/LAP again and the recording will resume. When you have finished your swim simply hold down the SELECT button for 2 seconds and the swim will be saved, alternativly press SELECT once to open the swim menu and choose SAVE How do I sync my SWIMTAG Account? ---------------------------------------------------- Just record your first swim using the watch app, then if you haven't already, create your SWIMTAG account using the New User - Garmin Connect option, then on your SWIMTAG Watch App press DOWN - Settings - Sync. Once this is complete your watch will sync automatically when needed. Choosing Your Results ---------------------------------------------------- Once you have SYNC'ed your account log into SWIMTAG and go to Settings - Watches to configure your processing options for your Watch. What's new

Our first minor update includes: -Fix a bug in setting an alternative pool size from the local pool list (thanks Joey for reporting). -Add an option in settings to hold the Lap button to pause a swim for some devices (Venu 3) that trigger the Lap press on the touchscreen (thanks to Lars for reporting). It is still being actively developed so if you experience any issues please send us your feedback.
