TransitGlance: bus & tram live schedules
· v1.0
About
Stop pulling out your phone to check when the next bus or tram arrives. TransitGlance brings live public transport departures directly to your Garmin watch, complete with realtime delays, upcoming stops, and a glance widget that shows your favorite connections before you even open the app.
FIND STOPS AROUND YOU
One press scans for the ten closest public transport stops using your current GPS position. The app uses your last known location for instant results, or you can request a fresh GPS fix for maximum accuracy. Each stop in the list shows its name together with the direction of travel, so you always know which side of the street you need.
LIVE DEPARTURE BOARDS
Select any stop to see its upcoming departures: line number, destination, and minutes until arrival. Where the operator provides realtime data, TransitGlance shows the current delay next to the scheduled time, and an asterisk marks predictions based on live vehicle positions. No more guessing whether the timetable is actually being followed.
SEE WHERE YOUR RIDE IS GOING
Curious about the route? Open any departure to view the next stops along the trip with their arrival times. Perfect for checking whether a line passes where you need to go before you board.
YOUR STOPS, ALWAYS ONE SWIPE AWAY
Save up to five favorite combinations of stop and line. A background service refreshes them automatically every few minutes, and the glance widget rotates through your upcoming connections, always showing the soonest departure first. Each entry displays the stop, the direction, and the next two departures including their delays. Long stop names scroll smoothly so nothing gets cut off. Check your commute with a single swipe from the watch face, without ever opening the app.
WORLDWIDE COVERAGE
TransitGlance is powered by the Transitland platform, which aggregates public transport schedules and realtime feeds from thousands of operators across the world. If your local operator publishes open transit data, chances are it works here. Realtime delay information depends on what each operator provides; where it is unavailable, scheduled times are shown instead.
SETUP
The app requires a free Transitland API key. Create one at transit.land, then enter it in the app settings through Garmin Connect IQ on your phone. An active connection to your phone is required for loading data. Location permission is used to find stops near you.
