MindLog
· v0.6.0
About
MindLog is a standalone Connect IQ application designed to log cognitive states during physical activity using an experience sampling methodology. The application delivers periodic haptic and auditory stimuli, prompting the user to classify their current mental state (e.g., Flow, Day-dreaming, Distraction) via physical button inputs. This reliance on single and double button taps ensures eyes-free operation.
The software writes all psychophysiological inputs directly to the activity's FIT file, including the selected cognitive state, stimulus identifier, and reaction time. On modern compatible devices, MindLog concurrently logs high-frequency accelerometer data and running dynamics, such as ground contact time and vertical oscillation. This synchronized data logging enables the direct correlation of cognitive focus with physical performance metrics during post-session analysis. Operational variables, including randomized stimulus intervals, double-tap input thresholds, and response timeout windows, are strictly configurable.
