River Surfing
· v0.62
About
Track your river surfing sessions right from your wrist. River Surf logs your time in the water, counts your runs automatically, and records the data that matters — all synced to Garmin Connect when you're done.
At the start of each session, pick your spot: Eisbach, E2, Ebensee, Jochen S. Munich, or Other. The location becomes part of your activity name in Garmin Connect, so your sessions stay organized and easy to compare over time.
During your session, the app displays:
*** Screen 1:
- Time [18:22]
- Session timer [01:23]
- Heart rate [133]
- Calories burned [122 KAL]
- Surf run count estimate [05 ] — a new run is logged each time your speed exceeds 7 km/h
- Current GPS speed [12 km/h]
*** Screen 2:
- Heart rate [133]
- Heart-rate zone & distribution
*** Screen 3:
- Focus screen, only showing the time
*** Actifity sumery
The following information is displayed when ending the activity:
- HF max
- HF average
- Runs
- Session duration
- Trainings effect
- Intensity minutes
***Surf run count of the sessions can be seen in the Connect App under Statistics - Connect IQ - Runs.
Or in the Browser under Connect IQ™ - Runs.
***Also each detected surf run is now also recorded as a native lap. Your run
count shows up directly as the lap count in Garmin Connect, in both the
activity overview and the lap breakdown.

What's new
Version 0.62

count shows up directly as the lap count in Garmin Connect, in both the
activity overview and the lap breakdown. The existing "Surf Rounds"
field in the activity details is unchanged.
Version 0.61
- More reliable GPS reception: The app now requests the best satellite configuration your device supports (SatIQ or multi-GNSS multi-band on Fenix 8, Epix 2 Pro, and Forerunner 965/970; multi-GNSS on Fenix 7).
- New status indicator: While no usable GPS fix is available, the speed field shows "GPS..." instead of 0.0 km/h.
